Watched a video a couple of days ago where in a factory somewhere this was being done on cold metal! It looked real dangerous and the man holding the rod actually crossed himself when he started the process. Scary job.
It’s odd that people think God will look out for them bending a bit of metal. Footballers cross themselves too, and kiss their thumbs (Don’t know why) thinking it will make god help them win. Why they assume god is interested in who wins a football game is a mystery. Ways of the world.
@@markgoddard2560 Well if he can be interested in the most banal aspects of an inidividual's life right down to the clothes you wear and what you eat, i think it's easy to see why someone'd assume he'd be interested in their petty matters too.
@@markgoddard2560 I don't believe in God but I understand why people do it, they are not expecting God to look out for them, they are asking for his blessing that they may do their best and do it safely. So the players are not asking for the win usually (fools if they do) they are asking to bless their hands be steady, their foot be true.. it seeking reassurance and encouragement as someone may from a friend.

How much thicker strength of spring required to hold one kWh joules ? We compressed this spring with hydraulic jack and released slowly to run a dynamo which powered up the microwave so we got electricity anywhere in universe by our own weight ?

None of them actually need face shields. The heat coming off the bar isn't that extreme. The guy hooking the tongs to the bar in the furnace would be more comfortable with a face shield though. That's why they're wearing leather coats and gloves rather than the ones with a reflective surface. You want safety glasses since your main concern is the scale coming off the bar as it's wound but they're winding pretty slow so even that's not much of a concern.
Not very difficult coiling untaperd springs. Should of had the knockdown lower to eliminate the hight point at end of Spring. Also advise you find a way to quench it faster or you will never get contracts with companys like Alstom,Siemens,Emerson and Amtrak.. Im a Coiler and QA myself and have done presentations for such companys.
I watching a video the other day where someone was cold winding a spring with this diameter steel, and while im no coiler, i do blacksmithing as a hobby, and all i could think was 'this thing wouldnt handle any kind of real pressure' you could hear the steel stressing, and see the micro cracks forming at the bends.
