Would this work with a six cylinder engine conversion (m54b25 from 2003 E39) going into a 1997 318i ? I mean at the end of the day it's just a tach input signal going to a tachometer isn't it ? Great video Cheers from Australia Mick 👍
Thank you for this information! you are the good type RU-vidr really helpful 🙏 maybe you can help brother.. I have a bmw E30 but I have swapped the engine to a Nissan SR20 DET and I need to feed a signal to my tachometer do you know from where I can get my signal connection? Is it from the coil signal wire or the injector pulse wire? I have no idea how to get a signal.. maybe both coil to pin 7 and injection pulse to pin 11? Or does it have to be from the Ecu? Please advise 🙏
Do you know what happens when I lock the car and the inside tab doesn’t go down and lock . I can see it move but doesn’t lock . If I go outside and lock the door with the key I can’t turn to the left to lock but I can unlock and roll the window down . One other thing is there’s two small plugs in the bottom of the actuator which is identical but different color . Which one goes to which ?
So do you jump the connectors at the DME so that they are making a connection back to the DME as well. Because the way you did it you said it’s for your LS swap so you don’t have them bridged back at the DME or have that connector plugged in because you have no DME. I have an EWS problem and did everything exactly how you did and it did nothing.
@@sumojzbuilt254 i would pull up the wire schemtics for the cluster and if you car is pre 99 year then you can pin it because on newer car speed and rpm is captured with CANBUS.. BTW this is for E38 but it should be the same for other BMW also.
Hello sir.. may i ask same problem bmw e46 745Li , i try to by pass ews under dashboard, but cranking only.. Now may i know the exact location in e-box to by pass it.. thank you
Yes used the existing coolant wiring.. it has 4 wires 2 wires were for the bmw dme I didn’t need those 2 wires which were going to the gauge cluster used those and switching the cluster settings after
Great video thanks for all the help! I got what seems to be the same unit, I saw that you trimmed that bottom piece from the dash, did you also need to trim the sides? also how did you manage to fix it to the dash? i don’t have screw holes where the bracket provided goes. the car is an E38 7 series with DSP
I just changed the front distribution panel under the passenger seat of my E39. It was full of water and it screwed up so much of my car. But I changed it myself and got my car back running with some other functions that were also messed up. Now my doors don’t lock or unlock just like yours but I haven’t checked the rear fuses yet. Thanks for this vid bro
