Welcome! Music, trombone, play-alongs, practice tips, adventures and more!
I have spent a lifetime on stage as an acrobat and musician, touring the world and meeting wonderful people. In 2020 I set myself the challenge of getting good at the trombone. In this channel I explore a little of the journey from humble beginner to (hopefully) pro, things that have helped, things that don't and things that are just plain fun. New videos weekly, jump on board as a subscriber and lets see what happens!
Hello my dear Kyle, I appreciate your work and that it is so useful. When you make comments between topics, could you put a line of translation into Spanish?... there are more than 300 million Spanish speakers! It would be great to receive your advice, thank you very much! :) Eres un genio, me ayudas muchisimo en mis estudios!
I do like your tone. I'm trying to learn trombone. I love Big Band music and Trombone stuff.. I'm in my seventies, so why not learn something to swing with. I played guitar but carpal tunnel surgery took my guitar playing away from me. I've got a lot of STAGE time, anyway. I can sit around and play with Benny Goodman and Glen Miller, in my living room. It's just FIGURING IT OUT.
Kyle, these are FANTASTIC! I hadn't been practicing much since we moved to a new place in retirement but these videos made me get the horn out again and I can't thank you enough!!!
So you didnt do anything to ignition timing? I tried getting pops and bangs by pulling both lead and trail to -25, but ended up with my exhaust catching on fire the whole way down from 9k to 4k rpm
In the original music video (and song), the trombone goes high up around 1:08. Is that in the sheet music? I'm new to the Trombone. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m-uztVX6QFQ.htmlsi=0km9kSyeochlRIKB&t=68

hello are you still doing videos anymore, i really enjoy your videos i pick up the trombone after a many number of years, and has got me back doing the thing i love wonderful instrument.
this is a great app but how can you sequence the metronome? lets say i want to play 39/16. so i wanna add 2 bars of 4/4 then a bar of 7/16 and then it repeats. how do i do that?
Kyle, many thanks for your tutorials. I played trombone in Big Bands and Combos 40 years ago. Then my trombone went to sleep in the cellar for a while until my son and one of my daughters started playing it. Now they have their own instruments and are passionate musicians in bands. My old trombone is pretty rotten after having gone through many hands, but call it a coincidence or destiny: last week I found a trombone on a flea market for very little money. Now it is mine and I have started playing the trombone again - after 40 years. And your videos are just the right motivation and support I need. Thank you!
