Thanks for the Video! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (just google it)? It is a smashing one off guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend Sam at last got astronomical results with it.

This hole was ruined by Bob Shearers redesign. A hazard (ie. fairway bunker) in front of another hazard (ie. the water). There are also just too many bunkers. Was a much better hole before. Bob Shearer is given too much respect at this club for the detriment of the course.

To everyone in the comments freaking out about his club shaft... It's the camera people! It can't keep up with his swing speed thus making the shaft appear warped and whippy. In reality it's not bending that much obviously.

He looks like he's keeping his left arm glued to his side on the takeaway and backswing (one-plane idea). Yeah, that bowed left wrist (coming into impact) is similar to Graeme McDowell's (another U.S. Open winner). It allows him to maintain lag and delay the release for as long as possible. He must be thinking left hand "knuckles down" on the downswing. I believe his (and Graeme McDowell's) stock shot is a draw because bowing the left wrist closes the face, if you're using a neutral or strong grip. Also, he maintains his spine angle into (and even after) impact and doesn't "come out of the shot." I like how he stays down with it. Very athletic and very flexible like all world class athletes many of which are on the PGA Tour. I'm watching a guy on tour right now (Brian Stuard) and I think he is the next Lucas Glover or Webb Simpson: Obscure guy who comes from out of nowhere to win a Major. Oh, yeah, Golf Sage, these guys hit the ball long enough. Why are all your posts about how a restricted hip turn on the backswing will allow them to hit it farther. They can hit it 320 or 280 and they can employ any gimmick they choose to hit it however they want. They're the best golfers in the world. Born to play the game. And completely different than your really good club golfer who can shoot in the 70's. And is only a mere mortal, with a mortal's level of flexibility and strength.

you cant really quarrel with the results jim has had in his carreer. he has a flexible body to accomplish his swing. I wouldn't try it for myself as I am not that flexible. You never know about that however until someone shows you.
@rektspresso7288
@rektspresso7288 9 лет назад
James Ring Who said anything about needing to be flexible to swing like this..? I'd say athleticism and coordination are much more important to consistently time this swing than flexibility. Jim has a relatively small shoulder turn compared to most other tour pros and I can't really see anything in his swing at all that would lead one to believe it would require a flexible body. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it looks a lot easier on the body than most tour pros' swings, the most difficult part of it as far as flexibility goes would be getting the arms up as high as he does at the top of the backswing, but that's not saying much

Is that a senior flex? No way my X-stiff would bend like that!
@suicidekk

In order for me to explain the shaft bend @ 33, you must first look at his transition (down swing). Go to 27. Here we see Tiger at the top of his back swing (energy is stored throughout his body). In 28, this is called the transition. In a fraction of a second, he starts to shift his weight to his left. Next, we see his SEQUENCE. A correct sequence in a golf swing starts with the HIPS. If you notice in frames 27-29, his upper body is holding at the same angle. Now look at his hips, it is the first thing that starts to release this stored energy. That energy, travels up his body to his TORSO as he begins to release in frame 30. Now the energy that was stored in his hips AND his torso, are traveling through his arms at frame 31. Notice the almost 90 degree angle that he has in his arms and club shaft. HOLDING that angle is KEY to get enormous power out of your swing (its called LAG most golfers have already released that energy by this point, resulting in a slower swing speed and less power). In frame 32, he is STILL HOLDING THAT ANGLE! All that energy has been transferred into his HANDS. At 33, Tiger has "released the club" and ALL THAT ENERGY HAS TRANSFERRED INTO THE SHAFT AND IS TRAVELING TO THE HEAD OF THE CLUB. This, my friends, is what causes the club to bend. There is a term used for this whole explanation, Centrifugal Force. Beautiful swing.

Bend is absolutely real. The camera exaggerates it. There is no dispute.

I'm 5' 3" and hit it average 250-60. but I also hit it straight 90% of the time with a mid-low flight. It all depends on knowledge of the correct golf swing
@JMakahaFitz
@JMakahaFitz 11 лет назад
What kind of ball flight do you want to play? If you are trying to hit a straight ball you will never be consistant. If you see Tiger live, he aims way, way left. Perfect "your" swing, then look at your shaft. You may need a stiffer flex. You have a heck of a swing if you hit it 300+., tour pros do not hit it that long. The average golfer hits it 200 yards. Either open your stance and perfect a fade, or close your stance and perfect a draw. Get some lessons from a local pro.

need some advice from people who know their stuff. I can hit my drives like 300+ but sometimes i hit a snap hook and other times a major slice. I can't figure out why my driver is so unpredictable.. as i strike the ball well and my irons normally go straight. Any tips?
