Every day I do one Practice Run to get more experience with one cycling and other later parts of Speedrunning often missed when constantly resetting, along with also being able to see my improvement over time. I got this idea from Couriway's 1000 Speedruns in a Row series, which is also where I got the spreadsheet from, so huge credit to Couriway.
I started doing the Practice Runs on November 1, 2021, but only runs 152 and onward will be uploaded as I didn't think to upload previous runs before that.
I have seriously grinded today. 5 completed runs, no new pb sadly. I got a new bastion pb though today, it's on my channel if you want to have a look. I got my revenge on the ender dragon today as well.
22/06/24 I could have had a difficult icarus pb (didn't have enough obsidian and the portal room was a mile away due to a mineshaft) entered the end at 14 : 22 though, but while exploding the crystals with the crossbow, i caught the dragon perching luckily but i fumbled the beds yet again by letting the dragon get too low at 16 : XX. I silently raged quit and I have the strongest urge to just completely break down.
I have just got my new stronghold blind pb (one portal). 161 blocks. I had a 218 block blind earlier today. Last three seeds I have played was fucking beautiful. So proud of myself right now. My new icarus pb is coming up, I can feel it. Sub 15 here I come. If I carry on estimating the stronghold coords like I did today, I will eventually blind into the stronghold. LET'S GO
Yesterday, I had zero seeds that were playable, all resets. Then, today, I got a 18 : 12 on a desert temple/village seed. The temple was literally surrounded by like 3 villages and the nether was god-like. I killed blaze strays for like 5 rods but had to quickly move to the spawner as wither skellies were on me, ended up getting more rods that needed due to the INSANE rates, measured the eyes at 10 minutes, and when i built the second portal and went through, i was on the fucking surface on top of a mountain biome. I built the second portal in the nether at y 40 exactly and when I began digging down to the stronghold which was under me, the starter was at y 29 or something so it was not my fault. A witch then poisoned me and it was the long one so I was really not happy. I kept forgetting that I also had 2 golden apples in the run which saved me. I'll take that time though, it was an insane run. PB worthy too. Extremely.
I came close to another pb today, the dragon didn't perch diagonally but my nerves got the best of me in that run as I didn't have my beds ready since I'm a 'scroll' user. So I used the middle mouse button, it was so poor.
It's just because I've been speedrunning for years. My first speedrun was also 2 hours long, but through watching other runners, tutorials, and years of practice, the times get better and better!

Congrats on the PB! Those blaze rates were so annoying to watch at the start until they started actually dropping rods. I would just like to give 2 pieces of advice. Firstly, and I only learned this more recently myself, if you look diagonally while in a 1x1 hole (like when you were mining to the stronghold) you move considerably faster. Idk why that's a thing but it helps a TON. The other thing is make sure you never go off of the north-south line in the end after setting up mid since you don't want a diagonal perch. Aside from that, fantastic run, and I easily see potential for a sub 15 very soon! Keep grinding!💪
@@glazedpractice1136 I was trying to shoot the caged tower and just panicked. I wasn't quick enough and kept missing. I'll try that technique though with the 1x1 hole. For me, it's not a pb even though it kind of is. But, I know that if I get a bridge bastion with the double triple, it will mean that it's a pb seed. I actually married the bastion, lol.
@@CrimsonRose18 That's understandable, nerves go crazy on PB pace. One thing I will say is you probably should never go for caged towers unless they're already in line with north-south. Usually, you want to break anywhere from 5-7 crystals within maybe 15-20 seconds, since the longer you keep breaking them the longer the dragon won't be able to perch. Also I wish I had that same luck with bridge, I stg if it's PB pace I literally get 0 obby from every single chest in bridge no matter what I do, so I'm glad it worked out for you!
If you go in perspective and perfectly look in between the water and the air, it makes everything clear for some reason. Also, another thing that helps is having gamma set to 5. It's a legal setting change in speedrunning, and you just have to find your .minecraft folder, go into options, and change the gamma value in there
No new icarus pb yet 🙁. I had one seed that could have been pb potential again, 2nd day now, but it was just fucking unlucky. The stronghold screwed me again as it was ocean exposed but the portal room wasn't. Had the same great blaze rates then it went to shit really fast for the rest of the day.
that is the realest thing I've ever heard. I stg portal room is the only room that just refuses to be exposed even if the entire rest of the stronghold is. At least you have an idea of where portal is since you know it has to be down, but that sucks it killed pace in this case
Yesterday I had another seed that was pb-able, finished it at 18 : 19 though. The blaze rates were amazing, didn't have enough obsidian to build second portal but it didn't matter as I had a 372 block blind and then the stronghold was the worst thing I've ever fucking seen. It was in the middle of a large mineshaft, so my spike during preemptive went mental. The portal room was literally at the top left, through the fountain room but it just looked like a death sentence so I didn't think it was there. Not a skill issue, it was just unlucky again. I killed 8 blazes for 7 rods.
Hey. I almost icarus pb'd just now but it wasn't good enough. 17 : 52. it was a bad seed. 18 blazes killed. didn't hit stronghold and messed up a bit with the preemptive. quick dragon perch. the food was literally a blindness stew and a golden apple. no idea how it sub 18'd.
I mean that just shows you're doing good and improving. Being able to take a bad seed with bad RNG and still getting a good time on it just means that when you actually do get good RNG, it's gonna be an insane run!
I would definitely say just start with some starter RU-vid tutorials. With Minecraft speedrunning being so popular, there are tons of guides for how to start. The main things to learn early on are shipwreck or village overworlds (it can be useful to use villages early on since you'll get more food, but shipwrecks are definitely faster), bastion routing, e-ray and pie-ray, stronghold navigation, and one cycling. It sounds like a lot to learn, but they are each individually pretty quick to understand, and you'll get better and better over time!
Yeah, I do a fair bit of speedrunning outside of these practice runs. All of my important PBs are on GlazedMinecraft, my other RU-vid channel, but I haven't gotten a new Any% PB in almost 2 1/2 years, just other categories
Okay, you need to edit the long pauses out. I'm sorry. I don't edit my videos and when I go afk, I make sure to be quick when I'm doing stuff like using the bathroom. It's a massive turn off.
Honestly that's a valid criticism. I usually just upload the pure raw footage of the entire run, but in this case 25 minutes of pausing was definitely excessive. I'll try my best to remember to cut out excessive pauses in the future
Lol sorry about all the pauses. Sometimes they're to take a breather after a scary moment (like the boat clutch at the bastion), but most of the time it's because I'm pausing to write stuff in the spreadsheet

@@glazedpractice1136 it was a pain but I bought 2 new accounts if I have any words of advice is that Microsoft does not care and will lock your new accounts if you even change your password so just don’t deal with them
It's so tragic how common this is at this point, sorry to hear about your account 😭. Do you have a new account and are restarting on there, or have you pretty much quit after losing it?
That's pretty hard to say. From what I understand, there are a lot of shops selling accounts, so finding where it's being sold would be hard. I was really lucky to have a random person message me on Discord telling me where it is. I'm sorry to hear about you losing your account, and hopefully you somehow stumble into it in the future and can recover it
I had an eventful day. I have beaten minecraft on hardcore for the first time (sounds crazy but i hate hardcore), and then I had a pb pace icarus run, but the dragon took over 5 minutes to perch even though half of the crystals were down. I am finally learning by myself on how to kill the dragon with beds properly, it's all about the timing.
Dang, sorry to hear you lost a PB attempt, but GG on beating Hardcore for the first time! It's definitely not for everyone so I understand lol. One thing I would suggest is to learn how to get the dragon to force perch which can be done in Icarus. I have no idea how difficult it is since I've never played Icarus, but it's basically a way with shooting a crystal where you can force the dragon to perch instantly everytime if you do it right
I do plan on restarting a new Skyblock profile starting July 1st! The main profile I was playing on was intended to be a No Death Ironman, but I did use saving graces, so this time I'm not going to use any to make it much harder on myself lol
First video I have seen of u and same thing happened to me with an oddly similar circumstance. I did a similar with thing but instead hid my items and deleted my profile so my coop members can have my stuff.
That's rough to hear, I'm glad you got some closure out of it. It's nice to get those final moments even though they're bittersweet af. I also have mostly quit Skyblock after losing my account so I completely get that, it's so hard to get motivation to start again
It's honestly so frustrating that I don't know which ended up actually happening. The account hasn't been on Hypixel since I lost it almost a month ago, and I don't understand why they wouldn't try to sell it to me in the end for cheaper if they had given up on selling it to others
