I really smell something fishy. If police sold you a machine gun on accident it doesnt matter if that was their mistake, its still illegal to own a post 1986 full auto firearm. So it makes zero sense that he's somehow immune from impersonation laws simply because the car was sold to him that way. Honestly it seems more like cops not wanting to risk it vs some ACTUAL legal doctrine
