Used to live there great place. Looks more like islington on sea now the rich luvvies turned old shops into art galleries and vegan caffs 😂. Local s call them FILTH
Ever grateful that you recorded these. A big thanks from near Amsterdam. Has been with me travelling the world. Has been comfort during years with cancer in existential loneliness on bed. Thank you thank you thank you! Celebrating his Life and yours.🤍🙂🙏
Had a bar room fight with John Martyn the following year (he lost his temper!) Still had a big influence on my singing/ songwriting. Click and have a listen.
Love your work Glenn and mick, your humour is the stuff I've missed over the last 5 years,if you ever need an old time chippy to stumble around with you ,let me know 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for posting, What fun was this (and for a good local cause)! After seeing John push this fellow in the wheelchair I can hear him say, "Gonna end up just like 'im" ...and it took how long after he said this? About 14 years? Gone too young and too soon. ❤☮🌎
Decades ago I was a trained bricklayer in the US, but found an easier way to make money by selling products. The way I was trained, is the way they do it in the UK, where you have a big trowel and spread the mud in long swaths. I was taught to spread the mud the perfect height so that there was no tapping, only pressing slightly, then the excess that was squeezed out was used to butter the head joint on the brick you just laid. I could see where the German method would be better, because with the small trowel you are not lifting as much weight and getting your arm worn out. Putting the mud in the bucket to keep it from drying out is another good idea. It also saves time of having to put water on the mud board and constantly re hydrating the dried out mortar.
This video comes up on my Facebook timeline every few years. What a craic that was. When I was asked once by someone what was it like working in Germany, I told them it was like being on a stag night for 10 years. 😂😂🍺🍺🍺
A mason would have had that course laid in minutes. A few hundred in a day is SLOW sorry but not sorry. This is fine for a DIY guy. A professional bricks in the wall equals $$$$$.
