This was a very precise instrument - mounted wity a Shure M91ED Nude ellptical diamond at only 1¼ g of tracking force. Best sound I've heard from LPs (except maybe SEE Revolver with Mission 774lc tonearm and NAGAOKA MP-11 Gold cartridge). Either of those were top notch vinyl players.
The 5300 is a great piece of functional antique. Personally I think it is one of the best looking no-nonsense amps. I like the simplicity of the design of the switches more than the ones on the more expensive models of those days.
I have this one, a Technics SL-D2 , an Lp60 clone, and a Philips Linear tracking turntable. I like the SL-2000 best, especially with the standard cartridge and elliptical stylus
i have several pioneer and technics turntables but i think that being both very good in number the technics ones have more high quality models, the ones i refer to have is the P3(exclusive series from 1973), the PLC-590 and the PL-560 and a later PL-707 ,looks very good also plays perfect but the building quality isn´t what one could buy in the 70´s, great turntable models, refering to your too ,i didn´t bought it because i had several already
Just bought a mint condition KD-65 and can't wait to receive it. I already have an outstanding JVC TD-V661 3-HEAD tape deck from 1992-93 and will never sell it. Built like a tank w/amazing sound the 661 is the most impressive tape deck I've ever had. But, this KD-65 is too cool for school & it will pair up perfectly w/my powerful & super clean 1977 Kenwood KA-7100 amplifier. Love your vid/demo of your sweet KD-65! Thank you for making this. Your deck & rig sound great!
You put in a cassette and start to record. You send something like a 10kHz tone and set the master level so the signal is at -20dB, then switch the monitor to tape and adjust the bias so that the signal on tape matches that of source i.e. -20dB. Then switch the monitor back to source, send through a 400Hz tone, set the master record level so that it's at 0dB then switch back to tape and adjust the record sensitivity so that it matches the source i.e. at 0dB. Once this is done, the cassette is properly calibrated.
Nice. I got an old one up and running myself. Is that the original strobe lamp working? Mine is out but there are phone apps to strobe your flash LED and calibrate that way
@@marcellot.8311 grazie mille Marcello.
