Yay! Thank you! Please note that my website has access to hundreds of free, printable PDF sewing patterns, and each of those patterns has a matching RU-vid tutorial that shows how to make it.
You are quite welcome. It was a fun project for me and I loved how the little chairs turned out. There's a free pattern on my website (look for a link in the description).
You can send a photo. Just go to my website, click on "Helpful Information" => Contact. Once you reach out to me, I'll reply. Then in your response email, attach some photos. I'd love to see what you've made! ❤️
After many years of sewing pants for dolls, I've learned that if you hem the pants at different points in the sewing adventure, you avoid having mis-matched seams. On my website, I did a whole blog post about this, entitled, "Why my seams don't match up." Here's a link in case you're interested: wp.me/p1LmCj-Jc1 It has 41 pins on Pinterest, so I guess a few of my followers found the article very helpful.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, even just in the form of emoticons! Every comment helps increase this video's visibility on RU-vid, which helps other people find my free doll clothes sewing patterns. So thank you!
In all honesty, it's really just my personal taste. My mother always said that hand stitching one's hems looked nicer on the final product than a machine stitch, but I think that's a dated opinion, going back to the days before people had sewing machines readily available. These days, people are used to the look of a machine stitch. So you have a good point, Randy.
I'm so glad you find my videos helpful. Remember, each tutorial comes with a matching free, printable PDF sewing pattern on my website. (Just in case you didn't notice that.) The link to my doll clothes patterns are usually found in the description area, but on older tutorial videos, please leave a message if you find it's missing the pattern link. I'll gladly update the description area.
Wonderful! The patterns are found on my website, for both the skirt and the top, along with other free PDF sewing patterns. Please let me know if you have any trouble finding them.
It really is a lovely pattern, isn't it? I've made it many times, myself, because it's such a beautiful cloak when finished. In fact, here's a little-known fact: when I was in college, I made myself a human-sized version, and I wore it around our college campus. I looked like Sinead O'Connor in "Nothing Compares to You" (but with a lot more hair)!
Why did it take me so long to realize the pictures were the dolls hands. I thought they were human and was so confused by the amount of fabric I would need for a tiny dress 😂😂😂
Ha ha ha! Oh, funny! In my newer videos, I haven't been using the dolls' hands as much for my tutorials. But I'd kind of like to go back to that when I have more time in the future. I just think it looks so cute with those tiny doll hands in all the photos!
That's a Mego Dorothy action figure, from the Mego Wizard of Oz collection. She was one of my favorites to play with as a kid. You can find them on eBay, but I don't think Mego has remade any of these dolls lately. The Mego Corporation is still in business though.
Just found your channel Chelly, delighted about that and thank you for showing how to make clothes with easy to understand instructions and such a beautiful professional finish ❤
Well I'm glad you found me! If you have friends who sew for dolls, be sure to let them know. And if you haven't visited my website yet, it's definitely worth the visit. There are hundreds of free doll clothes patterns there, and each one comes with a free tutorial video like this one.
Well my website does have a few gift tutorials. I've got patterns and instructions for Christmas tree ornaments, tea towels, and other crafts. To find them, scroll down on the home page to "Let's Get Crafty."
Yes, there's a tutorial for use with snaps that DO have a hole in the middle and another tutorial for snaps that DON'T have the hole in the middle (because Dritz has started making the ones without the hole). My preference is the one with the hole in the middle.
I do wish you made doll clothes to fit Barbie extra mini doll and make look more grown-up styles . 😮 I use bodies with the Chelsea doll head. Works great for 1/12 scale dollhouses.
Thank you 😊 Your patterns and tutorials helped me the most for learning how to sew. Im not good at it , but it's helped me make doll clothes for my dollhouses. 😊
My free doll clothes patterns are marked with "Creative Commons Attribution" symbols, so as long as you acknowledge me as the original designer, you are allowed to alter my patterns. With that said, though, please be aware that I already have a free pinafore pattern for Monster High dolls on my website. If you're not sure how to navigate on my site, the home page has a link to a navigation tutorial right at the top of the page. But let me know if you need more help.
I almost always line my doll clothes. It gives them longevity through years of play. With that said, though, each of my tutorial videos is just a little bit different, so if you're using my free patterns, it's a good idea to see what I recommend in the accompanying tutorial video that shows how to make that item of doll's clothes.
It may surprise you to find that I really, truly enjoy making stop-motion! I only wish I had more time... It's a very time consuming thing to do. When I retire (summer of 2025), I hope to have more time to spend on making stop motion videos with dolls!
Barbies Beauty Center❤️always wanted one. When Hallmark came out with it as one of their Barbie ornaments for that year I had to have it.goes on my tree every year now❤️
Mrs. Chelly…I can’t tell you how excited I am to find your channel❤️I’m so ready to start making doll clothes for my little girl like my grandmother and great grandmother did for me
Wonderful! Please note that the patterns are all available on my website, along with links to the accompanying tutorial videos. If you have trouble finding what you want on the website, there's a link to a tutorial at the top of the homepage, and it's specifically designed to show newbies how to navigate the site to find what they want.
I’ve downloaded the pattern, however I cannot find how you sew and attach the sleeves, ie View B and View C. I’m the sort of person who needs guidance on this please. I particularly like View C. I’m very rusty with my sewing capabilities, so can you please run through how to make and attach the sleeves. Thank you kindly 😘
The Views B and C dresses each have their own tutorial videos. If you go to my website, you can find a link to a helpful tutorial on the home page. It shows you how to navigate my website to find what you want. The Bratz doll page does include a link to the View B dress and its tutorial; however I'm in the process of remastering the View C dress tutorial because I think it really needs a lot of improvement. For now, you can find that tutorial under Monster High/Ever After High dolls, under 10 inch dolls on my site.
By the end of September, I'm hoping to have the view B dress video fully remastered. If you're subscribed to my channel, it will pop into your feed once posted here, on RU-vid, but as I said in my other comment, you can find it on my site in its original video form.
