Great video. I have caught Pacific salmon for years out on the West Coast so wondering how you prepare those type of Damon. Is freezing and eating raw an option? Going out in an Evening Fishing Trip soon and was wondering what to tip and what license an out of state needs?
We like to prepare them on the grill best and then eat them within the first week, if not then we will freeze them. Not too sure about eating raw, we are all first mates for captains around Ludington and I’d say tips depends on ur trip but usually the mate works hard for one so 100 or over would be sufficient. You can buy a 1 day lisense if needed.

Nice video. Great job on the fish. I’d add a downrigger release clip on your handle with some black duck tape to clip your net into. It will release when the fish goes in the net and you won’t need to hold it.

Can’t wait to get back out there….(Suggestion: clip the net bag to hold it up against the shaft, away from the hooks, until the fish is netted and the weight of the fish releases the clip, allowing the fish to fill the net bag. You won’t ever lose a fish from getting hooks tangled with the net bag outside of the net)
I've never seen anyone slam set the hook on a rigger rod like that. I bet you lose a lot of fish. You set that thing like it was a LMB blasting a frog. But its encouraging to see that even rich kids on daddy's boat can catch spring kings. Fish On!
