The student was driving well overall, but at 9:34, they couldn’t complete the lane change because of the slower speed and a car approaching from behind. In situations like that, the examiner might take control of the steering for safety reasons. Unfortunately, the student also got a bit nervous and missed a few instructions. It’s completely normal to feel nervous during a test, and these experiences are all part of learning. They'll get it next time!
In that situation where the student turned left on the red light, what are you supposed to do? Wait behind the line? Or can you should you turn on a yellow light
In that situation, if the light is red, you should always wait behind the line until it’s safe to proceed. Turning left on a red light is not allowed. If you have a yellow light, you should only turn if it's safe and you're already in the intersection. Otherwise, it’s best to wait for the next green light to make your turn safely.
I passed my G test on 24 September 2024 in Lindsay (by only one chance). The vedio to much helped me for passing my G test. I passed my G test from G1.
Congratulations on passing your G test! 🎉 We're so glad to hear that the video helped you in your preparation. Going from G1 to G is a big achievement, and it shows your hard work and focus. Drive safe, and thanks for sharing your success with us!
In Ontario, the speed limit in residential neighborhoods is typically 40 km/h unless otherwise posted. If you don't see any signs, it's a good idea to follow this limit to ensure safety in these areas.
Good question! In Ontario, you can take a quick peek at the reverse camera during your G2 road test, but you’re expected to rely mostly on your mirrors and physically turning to check your surroundings. The camera should be used as a secondary tool, not your main source for reversing. Good luck!
We're really sorry to hear about that, and we understand how frustrating it can be. Missing the yellow left arrow happens sometimes, but don't be discouraged! Every mistake is a learning opportunity, and we're sure you'll do great next time. Stay focused, and thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Yes, you're correct. In this instance, he should have stayed on the left side, as the right track is designated for bicycles. When he turned right, he mistakenly entered the bicycle lane. It's important to always be aware of lane markings to ensure the safety of all road users. Thank you for pointing this out!
At around 11:00, the student seemed to have made a change of lanes to turn left and went into the other driving directions left turn lane. ?? Is that also part of why they failed?
Yes, that could be a contributing factor to why the student failed. Changing lanes into the opposite direction's left turn lane is a significant error, as it can lead to dangerous situations and potential collisions. It's crucial to stay within the correct lane and follow road markings to ensure safe and proper lane changes. This kind of mistake is typically considered a serious violation during a driving test.
The drive-test centers do not provide their own vehicles for road tests. However, we offer road test rentals for both G2 and G tests, ensuring you have a suitable vehicle for your exam. Feel free to contact us for more details on our rental options!
Good question! No, you shouldn't enter the bike lane when turning right unless there's a dashed line indicating you can merge. Stay out of the bike lane for safe driving! Besides, in this video the student had failed the test.
You're absolutely right! The light was red during that left turn, and unfortunately, that led to the student failing the test. It's a reminder of how important timing and awareness are during the exam.
Congrats on passing your test! 🎉 That’s awesome to hear you had the same route. Thanks for watching, and we’re glad the video helped! Drive safe out there! 🚗💨😊
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Some examiners are definitely more relaxed, but it’s also important to remember that small mistakes don’t always mean an automatic fail. As long as the driver stays safe and corrects themselves, they can still pass. Every test is a learning experience for us all! 😊
Since COVID, the G test has been slightly modified to focus more on highway driving, regular road driving, and lane changes. While parking skills, like parallel parking, aren’t typically asked in these tests, it's still really important to know them-especially front and rear parking. Even though it might not come up, being prepared with those skills will give you extra confidence on the road. 😊🚗
I have 3 questions, 1- can you change lanes in the middle or during an intersection? (5:11) 2- continuation of the first one, if I get told to make a lane change and it's technically safe to do so but im passing an intersection can make that lane change after I passed the intersection, during (in the middle of) or quickly change twice before the intersection? 3- when coming to a full stop behind a car do you have to see their back tires or can you stop right behind them?
From my understanding, lane changes at intersections are not allowed and there's no reason for you to do that When you stop behind a car seeing their back tires is considered a safe distance.
Great questions! Let me break them down for you: 1. **No**, you should not change lanes in the middle of an intersection. Always complete the lane change before or after the intersection. 2. If you're told to change lanes and you're near an intersection, **it's best to wait until after you’ve passed the intersection** to make the lane change. Avoid doing multiple lane changes quickly before an intersection-that can be risky. 3. When coming to a full stop behind a car, **you should be able to see their back tires touching the ground**. This ensures a safe distance in case of emergencies. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions!
Thank you for your input! You’re absolutely right-lane changes at intersections are generally not permitted, and maintaining a safe distance by seeing the back tires of the car in front is a good practice. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to have your perspective on these important driving principles. If you have any more tips or questions, feel free to share!

As a student driver, after making a left turn, first stay in your current lane. Then, check your mirrors, signal, and do a blind spot check before moving into the rightmost lane if you need to turn right soon. This approach helps ensure your maneuver is safe and smooth. Keep practicing, and it will become second nature!
@@GrayJaysDrivingSchool I agree 100%...but if you watch your video above, at 11:40 the final turn onto Lansdowne St. the driver in your video turns into the far lane to make the quick right hand turn into Drive Test. I just wanted to clarify before my road test. Thanks!
Thanks for noting that! The test was around 3:30 pm. We appreciate your attention to detail and will continue to provide valuable insights in our videos.
The student attempted the G test without having a G2 and didn’t take enough classes to be fully prepared. Thanks for your feedback, and we’ll continue to emphasize the importance of proper preparation in our videos.

I would ask them to turn around immediately.. That first drive along was reckless. Also they fail to stay in their lane. Even I know where my lane is.. 6:49 I would had easily made that left turn..
Thanks for pointing that out! We appreciate your keen observation. Your feedback helps us improve and provide better tips for all our viewers. Thanks for your support! 🚗📹
@@GrayJaysDrivingSchool You're welcome. Whats your running rate for mock tests to see if one is ready for the G test? I can't do mine until after July 18 2025 anyway but better to be prepared.
To ace your G test, review traffic rules, practice defensive driving, and get comfortable with lane changes and merging on the highway. Familiarize yourself with the test route if possible, and stay calm and confident. Good luck!
Thank you for your feedback! We recognize that everyone has their own perspective, and we appreciate all input. We hope the video was helpful and supports your preparation!
Listen he’s not wrong. Look at how much people that come from back home and drive reckless here. Don’t even tell me it’s not true. A lot of accident happen because of them. For example Brampton.
Hey thanks for posting! Really appreciate it! I know at their old location there was a couple different routes that they took. Is that the case with the new location as well? Or is it only 1 route now?
Thanks for your comment! Yes, there is a second route at the new location. We've uploaded a video covering that route as well-you can watch it here: [ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-06cdfYGVaio.html](ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-06cdfYGVaio.html). Make sure to check out both routes to be fully prepared. Good luck with your practice!
