Hey buddy, greetings from south bend indiana, where can i find the laws on metal detectors in indiana? Im really interested on beggining to do this, but i dont wanna get caught by a party pooper, thank you, keep up the good work.
@xjcrossx
@xjcrossx 3 года назад
Depends on where you are going. State parks are a no go. City parks are normally allowed but a party pooper and a dick cop might spoil the fun so I wrote an email to the parks dept in my city and they gave me permission. I'm in Muncie. Private property you'll need permission from the owner obviously.

This IS actually illegal!! You are allowed to metal detect in Indiana parks and other public lands so long as they are NOT MARKED as Historic properties!
@lindawolffkashmir2768
@lindawolffkashmir2768 4 года назад
A tip about metal detecting parks: Make sure the park you go to is older, one with age and lots of foot traffic. Especially if you want a chance to find sliver. Old neighborhood parks are the best bet. You most likely will not find any silver in a park founded more than a couple years after 1964. I know some communities are touchy about detecting parks, it’s best to look into the city laws a bit before trying, but usually the larger the city, the less they care. Usually the most problems come from tinpot neighborhood dictators who just want to ruin your fun.
@xjcrossx

I wrote a long respectful letter to the Parks Department asking for permission to detect all the parks in my city. They responded very quickly and very kindly granted me permission. It's nice not having to worry about those types of people, or the cops who just want to boss people around.

Nice token! You are lucky you can detect public parks over there, here in the UK it's rare that you can get permission. If you can get on fields that have had fairs or car boot sales they can be great for coin shooting.

@GrannyIndiana
@GrannyIndiana 4 года назад
Kd Walters I just got off the phone with DNR, you can metal Detecting on dnr land but you can’t dig! If you find something on top, fine but no digging. Have to say it’s annoying since I inquired about a corn field. State you need a permit to detect on any beaches other than that it is illegal to metal detect in any state park in Indiana, illegal to have metal detector in your vehicle in a state park. There is a fine and they can confiscate your detectors.

I know what the little badge is. Its a concealed carry badge for like an officer of the courts wallet.I had one as a security guard.
@jimsnider3828
@jimsnider3828 4 года назад
No it's not. Look at the back, it has a pin and a cover. It's a hat badge that goes on an officer's Campaign Hat when they are in Class A or Dress Uniform. There are tiny grommeted holes in the front of the hat that the pin indexes through and then you put the cover on the pin to secure it. If it was what you claim there would be no reason to have the pin and cover for it to be carried inside a wallet. It would get bent and break off almost as soon as it went into the wallet. Plus it could damage the wallet or its other contents. Today its call Marion County Forensics Services Agency. Because its worded differently on the badge I have to wonder if this was before the IPD/MCSO merger which created IMPD.

I started metal detecting back in the mid-90's (I'm also from Indiana) and used to hunt a few parks.... drove down to Corydon, IN one time and hunted in this area from the civil war (probably wasn't supposed to.... but...it didn't say we couldn't lol). Anyway, found a handful of musket balls. Most were still perfectly round but a few looked as if they'd hit something, perhaps a tree (or a person 😯). I still have my detector somewhere.... (although I'm sure its waaaay outdated). Had a blast doing this, very exciting!

I use a 3030 as well. Good luck hunting man, I recommend cutting a C shape for your plugs as they looked a mess. If you want to get less clad reduce your volume gain for parks to 9. If you do this targets that are 5-10 inches will sound different than targets above 5". When you hear a nice repeatable whisper dig it. I have found some awesome silver pins at 8" that didnt sound like much and had a 20-43 and 22-40 VID but because they whispered to me I dug them anyways. I love parks too man, keep up the good fight!

Michael Johnson I have this same detetector. It can withstand sprinkling but it isn't waterproof. I wouldn't lay the detector down in wet grass. You can put the coil underwater but the control box should not be put underwater and again I wouldn't lay it down in wet grass.

The piece with the 925 mark is a pocket watch case back. The best I can tell from the video is that the name on the top is "Elem". I am assuming that is the name of the company that manufactured the case. I am not familiar with that company but the numbers on the bottom are the serial or case numbers for the watch case. Usually you can look up the date the case was manufactured based on the serial numbers, but I am not finding anything with the name "Elem". It may be because I am not seeing it correctly in the video. Cool find though!!! I live in NW Indiana and I'm very new to detecting and can't wait to see what I find.

Great detector for the money like you said . I'll have mine by Friday . I've been finding silver coins for 8 years with my Etrac , and though I have 4 other ......Make that 5 other detectors now . I've not found more than a few with my other detectors & around 1,000 over the last 8 years with my Etrac . So , I'll be taking the TreasurePro out to a few hotspots I have not thoroughly hunted yet , and start where I detected before with my Etrac to see if it will pick up a silver or 2 I missed . I mainly got it to dig for gold rings around Tot Lots and such ....I don't want to look at the VID numbers much ....I'll just try to dig targets that stay in the same area as foil , or pull tabs to hopefully dig some gold ... I have been playing around with my Etrac in Jewelry mode and found a 10k Friendship ring on my second dig ....A foil signal that stayed registered at 12-03 ...Afterwards , I dug 3-4 pounds in a mix of foil , can slaw and tabs ....LOL....Just had to by a light detector like the TreasurePro and see what it can do for me ....My arm needs a break !
@hoosier9257
@hoosier9257 7 лет назад
That is one thing I really like about the treasure Pro. Its easier to swing when your arm isn't cramping!
