My dad had a track prepped 993 (later got into into 996 and 997 gt3 cup cars)… but my favorite was his racing buddy that had a 964 cup car in that same purple color… that was always in my top 3 of the cars at the PCA races…
It’s to bad he sold that thing years ago as he also got into gt3 cup cars… today he has a handful of Porsche (he’s the original owner of most of his street Porsches) and his highlight in his collection is the latest GT2 RS with the Weisache package (ya I think I spelled Weissache wrong lol)…
Fantastic video. I feel like I've watched a film with a whole story but only 5 minutes has passed... I need to take a leaf out of this book, my videos are too long 🤣
Amazing video, beautiful race and road car with great shots from “the old days” and what an epic story - loved it❤ Most important: the owner use the car as it was created for - respect✨ Five and a half well spent minutes, massive thumbs up from here👍🏻 Can not wait till next video😃
My father and my uncle used to own and race your car in the late 90s in New Zealand. Please reach out if you’d like some stories. BTW. The livery was pretty sad until they put it back to the Roock you have now!
We used to race a 930 Turbo and a 944 Turbo in the late 80s. Then the 964 in Group A races and also a 968 Clubsport. But this was not a spec race like the Carrera Cup 964 you had all Porsches. So older 80s G 3.2s, 928GTs too. The 944/968 were better balanced and easier on tires, the lap times were better overall. I know there is alot of Luftkagult romance about these, but these were a race car, one competitor ran engine oil in the gearbox to qualify on Saturday lunching the gearbox as he had bought a new one from a crashed Cup car to swap that evening and there were alot of bent ones. I am glad you got a keeper
I owned and raced one of these for about ten years. Ex-Maylander ‘92 Carrera Cup “Kattus”. Wonderful racing car. But driving it on the street would not have entered my mind. 😅
