I am praying about starting a church, and initially I’m looking for something that I can study on, make notes and print off documents for sermons. Later if it grows possible slides and perhaps some video/sound usage. I’ve heard mixed reviews. Do you believe the baseline mini would suffice for me? Or should I save up more and go with one with more processing power? The mini would initially be used in my apartment and possibly used as a home church computer. What do you think the life would be?
is the macbook pro m3 14 inch 16gb ram good for carrying around in my backpack or would it be too heavy? I like how it has a good screen so I can do homework outside and the 16gb for future proof. The 16 inch might be good cuz if a bigger size right but then I feel it would be too heavy since the pros are heavy the airs. I found an open box pro m3 14 inch 16gb ram 512 gb for $1,413, and I paid $1,400 for the same version except 16gb. So I was thinking about getting the 16gb since its pretty much the same price. Also, since the pro has an HDMI port I can connect it to my tv right?

I bought the M2 Pro Mac Mini with the 16GB ram and 512GB SSD. It's only $1099 if you buy refurbished from Apple and $1299.99 if you buy brand new. However after 3 months I sold it. I really started to look at things over the last 2 weeks on my Dell inspiron now. A big comparison here. Overall Windows PCs are a lot better. Here's a list of why. #1. The taskbar combines the menu bar and dock together with time, wifi, notices, volume, applications, all into one bar on Windows. #2. The dock is annoying in Mac as it doesn't cover all the way to the left and right and leaves open space not covered by anything. #3. Windows has over 500,000 games on Steam, Gog, EA, and Epic game launchers. #4. Apple doesn't allow any upgrades on there macs anymore, it's all system on a chip. No upgrades at all! #5. Only USB-C inputs. Some have thunderbolt 4 which is USB-C combatable. Some have 2 and some have 4. Only Mac Mini has 2 USB 3 inputs. #6. Mac requires a cell phone for sign in. Windows never does! #7. To quit an app on Mac, you must go to the menu bar, name of app, close program. In Windows it's easier with just X. #8. Mac doesn't have Window snaping to left, right, corners, and specific fit ways now in Windows 11. #9. Windows has the best graphics available and better frame rate than console games. #10. You get more inputs on Windows PCs. #11. Windows PCs cost less. #12. In Windows, documents, pictures, music, and videos files are already there by default in the file explorer. But in the Finder on Mac you have to enable these with settings in the menu bar. A big reason why Windows is better and easier to use and cheaper. #13. You can upgrade a Windows PC, you can't upgrade a Mac at all anymore. A big reason why Windows PCs are better.
im going to be starting university soon for cyber security, i think the 16gb variant is worth it, especially since I want the macbook air lasting atleast 4 5 years
The 120hz is a huge selling point to me. For something that you use every day, you'd want it to feel butter smooth. I just can't justify buying a new iPhone right now as my iPhone 12 is working fine (most of the time). Maybe when the iPhone 17 drops👀
Completely agree, it really makes it feel even more premium. I definitely would struggle going back to the non pro models now. That’s the right approach to tech, if it’s not broken don’t fix it!
omg.... wish I had seen this video before buying air m3 with 8 gb ram. Im really bad at laptop specs, so asked shop assistant help me with the choice. He said 16 and 8gd have no differences in performance, so i went with the cheaper option.... Maybe il try trade in and get even m2 with 16gb

I feel like flagships are not worth the cost at all. Too many people are attached to the brand i.e. Apple/Samsung rather than the product itself. There are other companies out there that are overlooked, but still have incredible stuff! Personally I have the SE 2020 version, which is essentially a slightly better iPhone 8. I will never consider a phone that costs €1000+. Hell. No.
Very good point. People are buying the brand and what it projects rather than the product itself - I think that’s definitely true with the likes of the iPad too. Yeah the cost is insane, especially over here it’s even worse 🤯
Please help me out here! I am confused between M3 Air 16gb and M3 Pro 8gb I am going for a masters in AI so it would include a lot of coding as well, i dont game or video edit at all.
I own the iPad (2019) and this thing is still a beast. I don't see myself upgrading to a newer generation since iPadOS simply cannot compete with MacOS and it never will. The M4 chip on the latest iPad is complete overkill for a device that can only run app store applications. Great video man! Will you consider upgrading at some point?
Exactly, my iPad is an even earlier model than yours and is still going strong - unless Apple want to send me an iPad Pro and convince me that it's worth the price tag I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon!
Believe it or not it's recommended to take your mini for a walk every other week, I recommend getting the optional 'mac mini leash' and you can take it for walks and not have to worry about it running off!
I think this is a very specific Problem. When you want to be creative on an Ipad / MacBook. Most people in my view just want to watch there Fav Series on Netflix or Disney but for people who want to Edit Videos, Photos etc your absolutly right. If i would be an Student or Creative Person i would prefer the MacBook over an Ipad.
Agreed - you are right, I think the frustrating part is they have 'iPad Pro' with crazy specs and insane prices when in reality 99% of the use case is going to be as you mentioned some sort of media consumption.. just seems a bit mad, and a waste of money.
I have both an iPad and a MacBook Pro. The only reason I still have the laptop is because of MacOS. File management is just so bad on the iPad. Unzipping files, formatting drives, etc. It's worth the couple thousand every 5-10 years. Great video, you earned a sub. The algorithm seems to be picking you up

Maybe there is a way to install MacOS on the iPad through 3rd party apps? Because Apple promised they would allow that right? I really wish that was a thing, and im hoping you could swap between iPadOS and MacOS when you wanted to.
it depends on what you will be using them for, either it being for college or work its all about your major/field. the ipad is still great and is getting better and better and so is the mac, just one is good for drawing and easy to hold if doing a presentation and such, and the other is good for typing and a desk job and a better battery
I wanted a mac mini at my desk with an ipad for on the go, and jump desktop to remote in from the ipad if needed, it would be cool if you could have macos on ipad as an option
@@brandonkennedy I doubt it too! I seem to go through laptops every 2-3 years - my m1 pro has half it's keyboard not working....want to see if a mac mini and an ipad setup gives me more bang for back time wise
Nice explanation Brandon - I got the gen 1 iPad Mini when it came out and it was my bread and butter - granted that was 2012 so I was...12 I would say consistently for the past 5 years I go through periods of wanting to buy a new iPad but in the end convincing myself I wouldn't use it

I had the 8gb/256gb M1 Air. Upgraded to the M3 Air 16gb/512gb .... Other than the updated design, which is nice, I can't tell any difference between them. I pay for the 2TB storage of iCloud, so without that I may have struggled with the storage, however regarding the upgrade from M1 to M3 and 8GB to 16GB, literally zero difference. That M1 Macbook Air is still a fantastic laptop. If you have it, don't upgrade, not yet. It's not worth it.

Completely agree - I think in general a good rule is if your machine isn't struggling and is working fine with your workload then you shouldn't look to upgrade.
Have you noticed a difference in the screen/display quality between the two? I want to buy the M1 Air but I am not sure about it because of how good the screen is compared to the M3 Air..
The biggest issue I have with Apple is how unnecessarily anti-repair they are. Apple needs to stop pretending to care about environmental issues and sustainability when they go out of their way to make their products more expensive and harder to repair, like by serializing parts. I have had such a bad experience trying to receive support for some of my products on more than one occasion, like with my AirPods Max, that I went from owning at least one product from every category to just my phone, earbuds, and laptop. I went through and sold everything I could do without, including my Apple Watch, iPad, AirPods Max, HomePod, and services.
Completely agree with the pretend ‘environmental’ care that they portray - they don’t include plugs now as it is ‘good for the environment’ however that means you need to order them separately which means different packaging and additional delivery.. its all a guise to cut costs. (But it’s trendy so they get away with it) You’re not the first person that I’ve heard have issues with the Max, given the prices Apple command they should have support to match.
Serialized parts prevent buying second hand Apple products with crap parts substituted. Look at the eBay scams going on with older Macs. If one of those were your first Mac you'd never buy Apple again. So there IS another side to it. But with that said I believe they could be a lot more creative about doing more. Not just in repair but in allowing upgrades.
@@brandonkennedy Since they sell for same profit margin in every country, things like iPhones are way too expensive in a lot of countries, like India. Instead of paying a Chinese company to crush and recycle those phones, they should renew and refurbish the old ones and sell them in India. This would help them enter that market better AND be more eco-friendly.
Life is too short to keep fighting with devices and systems. If something works and works surprisingly well and is reliable more often than not out of the box as in the case with most apple devices, there's no real reason to use anything else unless someone wants to be a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian 😅

You must not have seen the video. The whole reason you're "trapped" is because you don't WANT to leave to an inferior system. So what you just said is "the reason I choose Android is because I don't want to feel like the Apple ecosystem is so superior that I can't leave it." The lock on the walled garden is real, but it applies to EVERYONE. You're either locked inside (better), or locked outside (much worse, it's a third world jungle out there of malware, spies, bloated exploding batteries, and 19MB of your private data being sold around every day just waiting for one of the data brokers to get hacked and all your identity data going up for sale on the dark web.
What a great video! I'm trapped within this ecosystem too and I seriously can't complain. Most of their products are great and the continuity features are too convenient. I can't say I'm a fan of their repair services. Unless you have AppleCare+, you are paying a hefty price for repairs...
