These tiles are class A fire rated. Class A has an FSR of 0 to 25, making it is able to withstand fire for longer than any of the other classifications.
HI, I have a random question. Do you know where I can find this EXACT ceiling Tile? We need to replace a few areas within a house that was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Unfortunately, when the demolition happened, a few tiles were damaged. Many THANKS:))!!!
The only downside for me is that I can only buy small amounts of fixative. I'm currently doing my kitchen ceiling with expanded polystyrene tiles and the adhesive costs more than the tiles. It takes one tube for 3 tiles and I'm forever having to take the empty one out and put a new one into the mastic gun. It's be much better if I could buy a big tub such as you have.
Well I certainly feel stupid we put our ceiling tile on WAAAY wrong!!! Number one we didn't start in the corner....number 2 we used staple gun to "hold them in place" and let me tell you it was a PAIN.......ALSO the ones we bought are WAY smaller than these.....so maybe if we "redo" our ceiling (which I am SERIOUSLY considering it) I'm DEFINITELY going to buy the bigger tiles I don't care how much extra it costs I do not CARE because the smaller ones.......O...M..G takes FOREVER to put up even with a staple gun!!!!!! xD
+Peacetoself 1. The surface has to be smooth and stable. 2. You need to know the material of your currently installed ceiling tiles and then find the proper adhesive.
+Kathrina Mae Go There is no exact answer about their lifespan, but I can say for sure that it is very long, if installed correctly. It's been 10 years since we started selling them and no one ever complained about tiles falling off.
I can confirm that our house had EXACTLY that type of ceilings for more than 26 years...reason of taking it down was only because roof tiles failure and ceiling joists destroyed...room used to be hot in winter times and cold over summers, now with the new construction we have no clue how to approach that good old ceilings...
If using fire retardant tiles I would check their fire ratings thoroughly first. if painting over use water based emulsion not gloss, gloss is not fire retardant. Also use adhesive not wall paper paste all over, not the five spot method.
He will not do that as easy as the video suggests unless he has a breadboard flat surface and corners that are perfect right-angles. I would like to see a "Real World" demonstration by the same guy on a real "Real World" ceiling.
