I'm CallanLoF, a BIONICLE fan who designs figures based off of the series. I make stop motion videos of BIONICLE mostly and occasionally Lego. I've created hundreds of videos under different series such as MATA, Callan 'n' Davix, BIONICLE: Undercover, and more without any conclusive or satisfying endings, so my main passion with this channel has been animating comedy sketches and humorous conversations from livestreams I host with my friends. I hope you enjoy this content and stay tuned for new video releases. Have a great day!
I keep seeing comments of people saying, “Oh he was my first Bionicle!” or “Oh this is my favorite!” and meanwhile I don’t like this set at all because the mask makes him look like he has teeth to me. Also no hate to anyone who likes Jaller Inika, just my opinion.
Dalu technically has a recolor mask, as it’s a different shade of blue from the earlier Nokama Metru set. But you wouldn’t likely notice without having both masks side by side
As a Turaga, Matau has the fewest pieces (25) out of the team, and the Toa Mata heads (Voodoo face) in Mata green are exclusive to this set. As is true for the lime green Technic "catch" comprising his neck. The other lime angle elements on his arms and legs also came in the Nui-Rama (8537) from 2001, and Lehvak Va (8552) from early 2002, as well as the "Nitro Menace" (8649) from June 2005. Which would be their last appearance in that color for fifteen years until the Technic Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 (42115) in 2020, and are still used today. Matau's "Kau Kau Staff" also appears in a "Drome Racers" set (8469) from 2002 and recolored in silver for the "Buzz Saw" set (8648) from 2005, before it was phased out entirely.
Been said before but all these Matoran needed recoloured masks. Would’ve given them stronger identities. To this day my brain has trouble separating these characters from the Toa Metru.
Absolutely wild that when I think about it, only a company like Lego could just repurpose and repackage old stock without adding anything new and people would eat it up. Bravo Voyatoran
I personally loved the Voyatoran, but I also by no means think they were slept on at all. It's very understandable that the lack of new pieces or even recolors of any kind would be off-putting
