What's the best way to learn pivot/transpose in Power Query? I just fiddle around with them until they have the right columns. I want a systematic way to study them.
I pass the exam. Your videos and pdf file helped, thank you. What do you think about dp-600? Seems interesting but I don't see lots of jobs for microsoft fabric
Congratulations. MS Fabric, it's expensive and the uptake is low. I personally haven't touched it yet. Microsoft are spending a lot on marketing it. so.. let's see what happens.
Thanks for this great video. I am presently using the Microsoft Learning Path. True, it is a bit boring, but probably closer to the actual exam than anything else.. I have taken a few courses on udemy, but I went into shock when I saw some of the actual exam questions which have next to nothing to do with the courses which are expressedly designed to be exam preps. The courses by Maven, Philipp Burton and Nikolai Schuler are great for learning PBI, just next to useless for the exam. Next on my schedule is the measureup.
Hi, There's no way to know for sure. I would guess that the demand for data jobs will continue to grow.. The reason.. AI and machine learning need enormous amounts of data as input. I wrote about this on Linkedin. www.linkedin.com/posts/shano-collins_why-ai-will-increase-the-demand-for-data-activity-7061530216866721792-Fl2q?
Hi, Yes, you should have basic statistics skills. A junior analyst just needs the basics, that you could learn free online. But like everything else, the more you know, the more opportunities you will have. There is no high level math that you need. Data Science - a different profession, is where you need high level Math skills.
many thanks for sharing your experience. I have been thinking for so long prepare and taking the exam but struggling to find the right resources preparation that this summary helps me a lot.
You can do it, just block out time to study, and make sure you're getting 100% on all the test preps. Email me directly if you have any questions. Cheers.
This was a useful video for those interesting in learning to become a data analyst or wishing to add to their data analysis skillset. However, it is biased toward Microsoft products (Power BI, Azure). Having been an Excel analyst for more that 15 years, I can attest to the importance of both Excel and PowerBI. They are amazing tools. However, there is less emphasis here on the Google certificate courses, which are widely popular. The Google Advanced Data Analysis Certificate Program, in particular, is worth considering and makes up for some of the shortcomings of the basic certificate training. But it's worth emphasizing that the Microsoft programs lead to certifications (passing a test) rather than certificates (finishing a course), with the former being more rigorous to complete. Listening to the video, I get the feeling the presenter has not completed either the IBM or Google programs, but I may be mistaken. For more information on the Google and IBM programs, I recommend listening to Alex The Analyst on RU-vid. Overall, this was a valuable video and provides great insights into this career choice.
