An old friend once told me something that gave me great comfort. Something he read. He said Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin never died. They simply became music.
I tackled this lovely when 13 or 14. Notes fit under the fingers nearly effortlessly. Note that Rubinstein's touch is so very even, and his interpretation is classic--brilliant--especially the last time through the A section. He uses his right-hand thumb to bring out a counter melody. Three cheers!
I thought I was imagining it, but Rubinstein's performance here doesn't quite match up - towards the end he's left out a few counts. Perhaps in the version he was using it was abridged? Or just an error? Who knows.
Who’s here because they have to play this for the exam. I hate piano now, mostly cuz of my teacher. He’s so annoying, and this hard piece makes it even worse. Idk what to do. But I still need to pass grade 8 this year😓😞😤
Where do you even start with this ballade? This whole piece just feels incredibly personal. Every time I listen to it, I feel something that almost no other piece makes me feel, absolute masterpiece
