Girl this is so relevant to me right now. I plan to run away to Italy next year as soon as I finish my degree and have enough money. But some people (specifically my dad) say I need to go get my masters and become a teacher asap and then travel, but the truth is I’ll most likely be locked into that one job forever and stuck at home for another 2 years while I complete the masters. It’s almost as if he doesn’t want to let me go, and if I go I’m not successful in his eyes. And I have many other opinions about what I should do next year after graduating. Point is, don’t let someone dictate your life. I’m getting out of here, I’m exhausted.

I believe it’s a generational conflict as well since our parents had a different life since they were obviously living in a different time with a different mindset. We get taught this concept of life and how it works (school, bachelor, master) very early on and everything else seems surreal and not possible. It’s comfortable to do what everybody does, but lets be honest here. Your soul gets drawn to the place it belongs and we always need to trust our initiation. People don’t know what’s best for us- only we do. Staying comfortable won’t get you your dream life. It might be safe, but not filled with happiness. Those years won’t come back and you will most likely experience so many different things, that will truly shape your personality -and May eventually let you become a better teacher etc. also you would always regret not going .. a year compared to your life isn’t a long period of time. Girl, I don't know how I ended up watching this video, but it was what I needed to hear. You have a point, and I was aware of these realizations for a while. I think the fact you are an athelete definitely benefits you in this mentality. I think I was avoiding a busy life because, as you said, it is uncomfortable having to constantly deal with the growth and triggers, but that's the only way if you don't want to spend your entire life complaining about how boring your life is. I also think the people who give up early on in life are very difficult to socialize with because they live 24/7 in their head just re-affirming their beliefs, but there is a whole wide world out here and we have to be brave anouugh to interact with it, and I have to keep reminding myself that. Keep up with the good content.

It's such a fine line. We need to be aware and careful at the same time. "For men will be lovers of themselves" is a Bible verse from 2 Timothy 3:2 in the New King James Version (NKJV). The verse continues, "lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good".
You have to much expatation about meeting someone lovely kind nice respectful. Let me give u one advice to become happy and connect with someone on one level. Respect the guy, give him attention, carring and loving. Always connect with him everyday why because if u do these things u will get more back from a kind nice lovely guy. Start first with what do u want in life, you want attention than u need to live your life alone whatffr, but till u know what you realy want than u can step in a carring relationship. Biggest mistake is when a girl women say its not my type i can tell u that is the one that is realy your type to life happy after and not only a beautiful outside is your type
As someone who’s been traveling and building startups in the US but is originally from Germany, this resonates. It feels like we’re loosing a sense of home. Home isn’t really back where we grew up because so much of our identity is another place. But back at that place, no one quite gets or shares your context. The culture and the reality you experienced growing up. At the end of the day, that seems to be the cost of doing life on your own terms. We’re growing in different directions and our reality overlap gets smaller which makes maintaining a relationship difficult. Keep going!
