unsurprisingly, the bible isn't reliable at all. It repeatedly contradicts itself, shows that it is the product of ignorant humans and it simply lies. it's always hilarious when ignorant people like this poor fellow think that since his book says it is from this god and to be trusted, that means it should be. This is called a circular argument and the qu'ran makes much the same claims.
Hi Velkyn, There are no contradictions at all in the Bible. The Bible was written by more than 40 authors spanning over a period of 1500 years who wrote to different audiences with a different style and purpose. Minor differences are not contradictory. If you do a diligent study of the Bible, you will be able to reconcile the differences and see the overall message is one. God bless you as you embark on your journey of finding truth. His name is Jesus and He loves you as He gave His life for you on the cross (John 3:16). His love was demonstrated to us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Repent and receive Christ and all your sins will be forgiven and refreshing times will come from the presence of God!
@@sibusisotetana that's quite a lie, Sib. If there are no contradictions, then you should be able to give me one answer to the following questions: Who carried the cross? What happens with the thieves? What are Jesus’ last words? Who came to the tomb first and when? What did the first person/people see at the tomb? and the differences aren't "minor", that's another common lie from christians. To reconcile the differences the christian must lie and invent things that aren't in the bible. Curious how your god supposedly said no one is to add to his word, and yet you do. You christians also can't agree on your jesus either, with each of you making up your own version, since you can't agree on what morals this jesus wants, can't agree on how someone is saved, etc etc. You poor dears can't even agree on what people need to repent of, much less are able to show your imaginary friend exists at all.
If the New Testament was written over a hundred years after Jesus' death and resurrection, then how did those early members worship and follow Christ's teachings.....without a Bible? They used something other than the Bible.
They used the Hebrew Scriptures. For an example, read Peter’s first recorded sermon on the day of Pentecost: Acts 2:14-41. He quoted Joel 2:28-30; Psalm 110:1 and Psalm 16:10 to explain the fulfilment that took place that day. Also, you can read Acts 13:16-41. You will notice that Paul also quoted from the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures).
Hi, your statement is false Brother. All four gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are records of all that Jesus taught and did. The book of Acts also testifies of this. E.g. Acts 10:38; “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power who went about doing good, healing the sick and delivering the bound because God was with Him.” This statement is culled from Peter’s sermon at Cornelius’ house.
Thank you Brother. This verse is about apostolic tradition which refers to the teachings of the Apostles that were handed down to the church. All of these are found in the 27 books of the New Testament. This is what Paul is urging the Believers in Thessalonica to continue in. Much the same way as Acts 2:42, “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Your statement is farther from the truth. The traditions of men that Jesus referred to in Mark 7:13 refer to the fact that the teachers of the law were teaching man made doctrines instead of God’s law. For example, the ritualistic handwashing that they introduced was not from God’s Law, it was a tradition of men that they enforced upon the people. In Luke 11:38 we saw Jesus violating this hand washing ritual because there was nothing in the Mosaic Law that required handwashing. This is what I meant in the video and has no connection to apostolic tradition. 🙏🏾
@@CandCFollowUs Hi CandC, The Bible is the primary source of doctrine because it is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). There other writings which can be referenced such as the Didache, early church fathers (e.g. Polycarp etc), Jewish history from the likes of Josephus but nonetheless these documents are not inspired. They still have valuable information but the Bible is our reliable and authoritative document. The Old Testament books were recognised as canonical in AD 90 by the council of Jamnia and the New Testament in AD 387 at the council of Carthage. All 66 books of the Bible were unanimously approved as the Bible by the early church. Jesus Himself makes reference to the Hebrew Scriptures that they testify of Him (John 5:39; Luke 24:27; Luke 24:44). God bless you.
I asked you to provide evidence that any other authority other than the Bible is prohibited as a source of the teachings of our Lord. What Bible verse depicts such a restriction?
If you read my previous responses you will notice that I made reference to other sources that can be used such as the Didache, early church fathers’ documents, Jewish history from credible sources such as Josephus as well as archaeological records which all further enhance the veracity of the Biblical account. Nonetheless, the Scripture is more authoritative than any of these documents. I never spoke about restrictions, instead I elevated the Bible’s divine inspiration, innerancy and sufficiency.
