I've always been thoroughly impressed with that key change. The only other song I can think of that jumps a major third higher in key like that is All By Myself by Celine Dion (GMajor to BMajor)
I happened to be vacationing in Dublin September 19th 2009 and was lucky enough to see Merrill and Nate open for Dirty Projectors at Whelans.
