i have two of these engines D17A2 where can i get teh part to delete the EGR crap (02 Civic EX 5 speed COUPE) D17A2.. one good running motor and a spare (apart) good head and block with all new parts forged floating rods hicomp pistions (domed) from a ZC lol i want hi compression, im only looking for 138+ HP.... i just love feel of NA... and dont want too fast anyway just want a bit more umph. thats safer than turbo. turbo needs too much maintanence
I like that you didn't cut the liwer control arm structure. Are the axles in line and did you accommodate the proper drive shaft angle? Does the axle geometry matter a whole lot? I've watched lots of rear diff mounts and yours makes the most sense. Nice work man.
Any advice for pushing 200whp on a d17a2? Already got a Injen ram air and skunk2 catback picked out. Throwing ngk plugs as well as new coils and hopefully an hks pod filter. Keeping it n/a I could throw in a more aggressive cam and gear setup and put it on a tune with a d16 or k series ecu. I think the d17 has potential. Just gotta find the right crowd for advice. Car is stock right now.
To do kpro do I have to change cams also what are other options for this gen on tuning suite I'm just wanting to achieve crackle tune n 2 step I'm full bolt on 01 civic lx
Hey Red.. I'm reaching back here; its been a long time since you've done this. I'm about to do this myself: and I'm just a little worried about my fuel line. You said you just capped the return line, and it looks like the FPR valve is just uncapped/unused: Is that where I would attach my evap line? (the little green capped thing) On the normal fuel rail (stock d17) it looks like what is on the new one the return fuel line is hooked to the evap service port. What was your work around? Did you end up utilizing the evap service port at all? Maybe you remember :)
Very helpful video for my EG D-series. Everyone else just has before/after and does not show the process. Was also able to avoid taking the valve cover off as my timing cover is removable on it's own.
From Greece. I want to modify my car, a 1997 civic coupe ej6 to awd. My engine is the d16y7. I think I will need a part from hrv. My question is does the transmission box need to be changed or can I somehow use the existing one? Also are the hrv differential limited slip or not?

I have a Honda Element and, watching Element videos, noticed that they sometimes don't transfer power very well. I have seen someone put a Crosstour rear diff into an Element and have also seen a video of someone upgrading the Element with a spool kit which is essentially the same as yours - drill out the oil passage and new springs. Is the CRV rear diff compatible with the Element? What makes the CRV rear diff better than the Element?
