lol that was cool! I do stuff like this (not the speeding up the tempo part) but try covering hip hop samples that I like, on guitar it’s fun to try and sound them out and figure out how to play them
Same here! One of my favorite things to do. I like unconventional guitar stuff. I did Fireflies by Owl City a while back. ( ru-vid.com65VuR7VAe5k?feature=share )
This was one of the very 1st songs that I liked on my own when I was about 4 or 5yrs old my parents would always have the classic rock stations on playing and I heard this song and instantly loved everything about it, but I had no idea who the band was or the song title and I kept trying to explain the song to her to figure out who it was. But she couldn’t figure out what song I was describing and like a month or 2 goes by and I’m in the car with my mom and finally! The song came on and I remember get all excited telling her “THIS IS THE SONG!” And she instantly knew who it was and that was the start to my love for music! Oh! And Gary Wright’s “Dream Weaver” lol we used to go to my family on a 6hr drive one way, and I would make my parents put that song on repeat 😅.
Excellent rendition Kyle.As a matter of interest,do you know if the Steely Dan guitarist actually wrote that piece himself. There are many excellent guitar solo's but that one is in my top 3.
Thank you! Great question. I couldn't find a straight answer online, but I would guess that he did. He (Denny Dias) was a founding member of the band and may have had a background in jazz. I have a feeling this solo was largely improvised too :-) this is one of my favorites as well.
@kyletaulbee all are masters. Below are some links to my favourites. A bit away from your rock roots but you have to admire or be astonished at the complexity. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v0IY3Ax2PkY.htmlsi=J6bw22x6pdLlxlYG ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T29oLUB39-o.htmlsi=_NhIGuc28IxY-UID And Django finally... not bad for two fingers... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uTlo809EIlo.htmlsi=iGu4CikIbGaKCD1A
