The only two advantages Page has over Blackmore are the song writing and the fact that Zeppelin become more succesful than Purple. That's it. Technical abilities, precision, speed, feel, solos structuring, live playing, durability, versatility - it's all on Blackmore's side.
You've been tricked by what Ritchie have given to eat to all the rock media over the year. The fact is that Ritchie was never the type of artist to give a fuck about what the media depicted him to
@@gatsu8826 I'm talking within the band. He was always fighting with Gillan, storming off stage like Beck, destroying his instrument out of anger.😑 I'm just glad he has nothing bad to say about my guitar hero Jimmy Page. He always speaks positive about him and Led Zeppelin.
I think it is so funny how you give credit to Jimmy Page for being so innovative and having the best riff when he clearly ripped it off from Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters, "You need Love" Ritchie wins by default for having the only totally original iconic riff. Don't get me wrong, I surly love me some, "Whole lotta Love" but clearly innovative riff then has to be Blackmore.
Richie nicked the "Smoke On The Water" riff from the 1966 Astrud Gilberto song "Maria Quiet". Both guitarists are great and they both "borrowed" extensively from others. Just enjoy music and stop making it a pissing match.
@@deansmith6593 I never herd Ritchie borrowed for SOTW riff. If this is true, then I consider myself more educated on this. I never intended on making this a pissing match. Like I mentioned, I really do like "Whole lotta Love" and JP, two of my fav guitarist. I do have to admit. Over the years, I have leaned toward RB as being a little more talented IMO.
