I use masking tape (same kind as the green one in this video) and I make sure it is well applied and I use 2-3 layers, but the paint always manages to bleed underneath it. any idea why? also I'd buy this toy in a jiffy! looks brand new!!
ive got full set of the natwest piggy banks. my mums friend collected them for her son but sold them to my mum for 150 when she was in need of some quick cash and i still have them, made by wade if im not mistaken. Cant wait to get into my loft in next couple weeks gonna get all my 80s toys down see whats there. was meant to do it last year but we had a major wasp nest inside my loft so had to leave it. Been no activity this summer so think im safe to get in and check out all the stuff.
Fab! I bought an R2 maybe five years ago. In a poor state, so it cost just £1.50. Used your great little fix it to give him a very passable sensorscope, used a chrome pen, as his head was pretty much transparent and voila! He's absolutely been brought back to life! His new sensorscope makes it! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and quick little DIY project, perfect for fumblers like myself. 👌
Never had or seen the Thundercats figures, but I remember the cartoon, which I enjoyed, the Thundertank looks more for a 3 3/4" scale figures..... maybe a future project for you to do custom figures in that scale... Great video.
Off-topic here, but where would you value a vintage MOTU out-of-the-package complete half-paint Skeletor with a foam head, vintage MOTU out-of-the-package complete flocked Beast Man, and a vintage MOTU out-of-the-package complete Scareglow? A friend of mine broke out his MOTU collection a few days ago, and I had never seen those Skeletor & Beast Man variants or the Scareglow figure before.
Excellent job, as always. Your creativity & eye for detail are amazing. I still don't know how you apply the stickers so quickly and accurately. I'd be an hour doing that & they probably wouldn't be half as straight as what you do in a few minutes.
It makes such a HUGE difference in the level of excitement the toy brings. It helps the child build stories in their minds to play out with the toys. Excellent work as always, Dave! Cheers!!
Great stickers as always. I still look at the custom stickers I put on my Snowspeeder, which were purchased from your site and I think that Snowspeeder is my favourite of all my ships because of those stickers, which make it look so much better than the boring original ones. Sorry so late to the video. I have a Luke from childhood. It has it's head glued on. Any videos for getting that head restored? Safely removed then the old stem removed specifically.
I've never liked LJN's figures. They are absolutely terrible. However, I do have a toy handgun from them that is very realistic. I bought that thing in 1981, maybe and still have it. LJN's toy guns were actually pretty good.
Well said, Dave. I have watched your videos for a few years now and have done my own repairs. They are for my enjoyment. I am not interested in price of them. A lot of people seem to miss that point. Yeah it is nice to have them in boxes but sealed? Unplayed with? Nah. Especially the price of star wars figures mint now days, it is ridiculous and only for the people who have the money and not for casual collectors.
