From my experience 1/4 of an inch in the round ball vs. conical saga. That is all until one walks out past 30 yards or so, then the round ball drops, and the conical stays on par

I have been researching it conical vs. round ball to my best efforts if one is distance shooting the conical fairs better. 20 yards or less round ball at distance conical does more in the way of wound cavity. At shorter intervals, the damage is the same

Good video! Awesome helper you have right there! If you want the Ultimate in power capability and accuracy out of your 36 or 44 percussion revolvers then you might want to consider to try out my Universal Bullets. I have a 36 caliber 145 RFN grain version of my Universal Bullets. They perform superior the LEE's. I offer custom made molds made by LEE Precision that are made to a higher specification the the standard LEE production run Bullet molds. I also offer a superb BP Lube I make from Pure Beeswax and Coconut Oil. Each mold order gets a small slab of it when available. My Universal Bullets are meant for Hunting and Wilderness Defense purposes. One customer took a 152 pound Wild Boar with 2 shots usining my 140 grain Universal Bullets in the Pietta 8 inch 1861 Navy percussion revolver. The Pietta1861 Navy's cylinder was filled to the brim with Pyrodex P Powder and my older lighter 140 grain VKV SMLGUB Universal Bullets. The first shot was at appox 21 feet in the beast's ear. The second follow up shot at 7 feet again in the beast's ear. It was Dead right there. See the various test videos on my 44 and 36 caliber Universal Bullets. Enclosed is a 36 caliber comparison test video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UIUPFCYPaAk.html

I'm not out breaking new ground on these rounds. We were just getting out and enjoying some target shooting and having a good time. Its just another guys perspective and opinion.. in all that ty for watching and hope u enjoyed it otherwise.

@@maddoxoutdoors3396 the easiest thing is not going to be the most reliable nor accurate thing infact far from it. The BEST thing to do is have your gun custom tailored to your specific trigger and Hammer tension needs, springs and workings improved and sighted professionally like any gunslinger worth their salt in the old West I tip my hat to you and thanks for learning and growing together with us all. 🎩👌🏼♠️

@@Outlaw--JesseB I actually agree with you 100%. I don't have professional advice for anyone about anything. I can only give my opinion based on the questions asked. I fully understand what you are telling about having it fixed professionally. Had it been a different firearm I would definitely suggest that. I don't know exactly what his 1851 is but if its was an actual colt original and he's shooting it for whatever reason I wouldn't have it worked on. If its a replica like mine then my opinion is not to spend that kind of money fixing that particular problem. Is the gun really the problem. Not for me to criticize him on shooting abilities... My motto is if I'm not learning then I'm not living. Thank u for watching my channel and I'll take any advice you have to maybe learn something new.
@Outlaw--JesseB
@Outlaw--JesseB 3 года назад
@@maddoxoutdoors3396 absolutely understand your perspective, for me these guns are fairly inexpensive so having it tailored and sighted professionally giving the gun smooth action and accuracy is worth it to me. I treat my 1858 just the same as any other revolver modern or antique. However I also understand that a lot of people just plink these for fun and don't have any desire to make them functionally accurate handguns. I myself love the trueness to history and honestly just the plain good action and handling that makes you feel as though you're holding an honest to God gunslingers weapon. Not everyone is as reminiscent of the old days as I am 🤷🏻‍♂️ I tend to live a century behind everyone lol. Call me old-fashioned 😉🎩
