I am based in Brighton, which is right down the bottom of the UK. We have some of the best fishing down here as we have all types of different ground, ranging from flat sand to mussel beds to large reefs. This brings in all sorts of different species and our summer period is the best time to fish for them!
My favourite type of fishing is definitely lure fishing, this is mainly from my inflatable boat (Honwave). I love shooting around the coast from mark to mark trying to find those PB bass and cod.
Very cool video. I bet slow pitch would have a greater advantage in deeper water where you need heavy soft baits to get down. I've got a couple of 275 g Savage Gear v2 sandeels and the weight takes a lot of the natural motion out of them compared to lighter soft baits. I am by no means a SPJ expert but maybe your catch rate could benefit from changing up the motion of the jig a bit. This guy explains some of the different slow jigging techniques (watch from 5 min into the video) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xchA7sobfME.html
Hello, thank you for watching. Yes after this video it made me think a lot and you are right they would have defo out fished the soft plastics if we were fishing a wreck or something in a lot deeper water. If I had more time it would have been good to try out 3 different marks in different depths to see which ones work the best so maybe I’ll Do this next time instead of fish the same mark. I’ll give the video a watch 👌 give my latest video a watch, if your into lure fishing 🙏
I tried SPJ for the first time, on some wrecks in 70-120 m water, a couple of weeks ago. Slow day and pirks seemed to work just as well that day, which was a little disappointing, but at least it was more fun fishing with 200 g jigs and a light rod instead of 500 g pirks and 20-30 lb rods 🙂 Honestly I changed back to soft plastics quite quickly when I felt like I was being outfished... but I have just invested in a expensive SPJ rod and reel setup, so now I have to justify the investment by actually catching some fish with it 😅 Just watched the lure fishing video. Good fun. Keep them coming 👌
I’ll have to lay off the edibles. At one point, I thought “why the fuck is there a tiller on Ben’s outbard?” Then I noticed it was the handle of your knife stored in the bait tray. I had a chuckle about that 😂
@@chrisbeswick791 that is a lovely setup!! Probably my favourite tbh. A lovely V hull but also a light boat compared to the t35 and a fast but light outboard 👌👌
Great vid , good to see you both having a good time catching some nice fish , can’t wait to get my sib out for the first time and do some fishing myself. 🎣
Hi that looked like a blinding day on the sea and great fun . As a endeavour 500 owner myself, how are you finding the boat ?? good to see 2 lads enjoying the sport so much btw .
@@SouthysFishing I am very happy with it i purchased it new in 2021 and can not fault the boat it does what ever i ask of it and as you say nice and quick with a 60hp on the back i have a yamaha on mine . im based in essex and fish the thames estuary but i do fancy a trip to the south coast .
Thanks for the comment, so on the video I open the valve and then place the leaf blower end directly over it and once finished I take it off and quickly tighten the valve. I have seen some people glue the adapter for the boat onto the end of the leaf blower do you don’t need to do this.
@@SouthysFishing I’m a new boat owner in Sevenoaks, Kent and unfortunately Kent itself has very few slips so I’m researching as many as I can find in West Sussex and down into Hampshire 👍🏼
@@chrisburr7929 congratulations on your new boat! Yea down our way I would say the best one is Littlehampton. Newhaven is crap and Shoreham is very small.
Ive been using an Air mattress pump for my paddle board. It gets my board to the point where its inflated and ready to take air from a high pressure pump in 3-5 minutes. The best part is it cost me $15 bucks on amazon.
@@SouthysFishing Im sure you could find one which is battery powered. Mine is powered off a DC outlet in my car which works well for my application as i am usually inflating it where I drop in.
