Thank you!...yeah I was bummed at first about the rain on the lens. Then I thought, well, that's Amsterdam! So I kept it. I'll be more wary about stuff on the lens next time. Live and learn. Thanks for your nice words, I'll be sure to keep them coming! :)
@@travelbavel420 it’s not the end of the world, but I think there is people out there that would watch something else just because of it. Some people are very picky. Any how keep ‘em coming and I hope the both of you have a wonderful day. 🤙🏽
@@travelbavel420 It's funny how one's mind works. I grew up in Amsterdam in the 60s and hitchhiked all over Europe and North Africa. I have eaten things that I didn't even know existed. I always figured though that if the locals ate it it must be OK. I still believe that a lot of "strange" and "exotic" foods are healthier than most American stuff. Stay in your travels and open your minds. It'll be OK
@@travelbavel420 I have been to Germany many times. It's a beautiful country but bad feelings remain with me as a result of Germany's history and oppressive behaviour to put it mildly. You will find that the older generation will not speak English and the younger ones only occasionally. Certainly not like in Amsterdam. My experience from way back was that the Germans didn't like hitchhikers very much. There are a few place that I found spectacular. A trip along the Rhine from Cologne to the Moselle river is very nice. Loads of castles. If you like Roman stuff, Trier is a must. I drove with my girlfriend from Amsterdam to Cologne, then along the Rhine to Bingen. We continued along the Moselle to Trier and from there through Luxemburg and back to Amsterdam. We were lucky with the weather. I wore shorts (not lederhosen ;) ) Marksburg Castle on the Rhine is an absolute must. It is one of the few that has never been conquered and is in incredible condition. Disgusting foods to expect: pork hocks and anything with liver. lol
Okay, that made me want to push back germany for later. Im planning a trip to Norway and Italy next. Thinking Oslo for a couple days, then Italy for 4-5 days. I love Italian food. Food and people are the main reasons I travel 😀 I'm excited!
Many times, I also recommend the ‘Pancake Bakery’ and ‘Staring at Jacob’ restaurants in Amsterdam for food. The Pancake Bakery is near the cafe in this video and Staring at Jacob is about 15 to 20 minutes walk south of there. Jacobs is great for brunch and pancakes are great anytime and they have both savoury and sweet ones in there. Winkel which is almost next door to cafe Hegeraad is also famous for its apple pie but is m much busier than here.
Ill definitely check that place out! I just posted this whole tour a few minutes ago. Hopefully its done the HD upload. Guided food tour, history of Amsterdam, and Canal boat ride. I think you'll like it! Dont forget to subscribe :)
Nice! What's your favorite thing to do there? We had a 12 hour layover and I needed to explore. Wish I had more time, but for only half a day, we got to see alot!
@@travelbavel420 Okey then you know of. If you go back you should see the kings castle. Maybe you guys saw it but if not it’s a very nice place. Specially in the summer
@@bodvoc8704 definitely! It was such a cool place. I'll be posting tons of amsterdam in the coming days and weeks. You can be my 12th subscriber if you'd like! 😀
