Thank you SO MUCH. You're doing a service to all of us who want to mod or repair our mouse. This is the best kind of documentation and reference. Cheers!
Got mine built today and love it. For those that are building this with little experience. You will need to download the arduino IDE to flash your arduino nano (you will have to select arduino nano as the board type) In the deej config file you will also need to set "invert_sliders: false" to "invert_sliders: true" You will also have to reorder the sliders to match your printed case. All in all its very simple. My only complaint is with the deej software itself which I can't even really blame for this. Its that there isn't really just a simple "game volume" option. You have to manually add games to your config file which could be very annoying for people who play a ton of games. Thankfully I play like 3 games so it wasn't hard to add them but it would have been nice if it automatically assigned games to a certain fader.
I ordered this after seeing the LTT video (I assume many others did as well) I can't wait to get it in the mail. I am printing my case right now. I did end up changing spotify to youtube music and firefox to chrome on my faceplate though.
DotMatrixLab's software has a GUI, which makes setting up and configurations much easier. It also has Midi support, which allows me to use it with Voicemeeter:)
@@Ananords I've just completed mine, thanks for the cool design and helpful video👍(and indeed, the dotmatrix app is way easier to set up than the original deej files)
The soldering is required, as that is what makes up the electrical connections. If you want an already assembled version you can check out dotmatrixlabs.com :)
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. We are working on a mac release for our new software Dot X, you can follow the progress on discord:) discord.gg/Y3GPMTq6UF Meanwhile, the deej project on GitHub should support mac
i'm actually planning to do this as it is the coolest looking side glass panel for a pc but just one question: what liquid is used to remove the top layer? is it isopropanol or water?
You would just add more of the vynil or electrical tap to hide the area of the side panel that isn't the screen. This would essentially make a bezel around the screen.
This is amazing!! Can you make one with higher level books? I bought my grandma a YOTO but it's too difficult to use for someone with dementia. If you can make what you just made, simple for dementia patients, but with stories (books by john grisham, james patterson, etc) I'd love to purchase one, if they're for sale.
