Hey Red. Still following you and driving a 2018 Ram ProMaster you converted. She is still running good and your customer build is solid as a rock. The tiny house build looks like a big undertaking. I'm thinking I might want one of those next. 😂
The lack of cooking options, lack of adequate fresh and grey water storage, and the massive amount of cabinet space is a bit of an issue for a full time van especially at 60k....
She bought there first van. Then after being in it for a while she wanted to change a couple things. Then sold it and built this one in 19. She has a few health issues she needs to take care of.
Eric that’s nice and I would love all that storage as you know and the bed to the side is nice. Good luck selling. I still think about one of your buses lol. Great job friend! !
Not the nicest build out there but what was "junk"? Just curious. Not my taste in layout. A bit too claustrophobic for me. Can't get to a lot of storage when bed is deployed. No practical means of showering. Looked like a decent electrical system and 400w of solar on roof.
@TeutonicNordwind had one. Lots of problems. Very high maintenance vehicle. Battery went at about 80 thousand Radiator at 150 thousand. Oil pressure switch. Two broken rocker arms. Cam shaft. Door latches. Alternator. Light bulbs every two months. Transmission at 400 thousand. That's when I got rid of it. Even had to replace the windshield washer motor.
TRUST ME!!!!! They are not. Do not believe me. Go to Laredo TX. Where you will see more than 100 trucks. On a daily basis. In the truck stops Listen to what people are saying about them. Talk the owners. Both the transit's and Promasters. Are junk. High maintenance vehicles . Not durable. Not dependable.
❤❤❤boy, those colors w thatwood is INCREDIBLE!!! If she could find a good artist to paint those rims the colors of the wood. Like wood wheels…. That would top tje exterior off!!!
Thanks for that great advice. I am in west palm beach florida. I didn't know freight isn't coming in or out of florida. Also, park my van in a hot spot and fly back to florida, then fly back to the Hotspot
Red did what nobody, NOBODY else would do to our custom built Sprinter: modify another builder's work. That mod cost $500. I thanked Red by spending another $6500 on equipment and mods. Now for the AC: Lily, our 2019 Sprinter, 170 extended, XD, 4x4, has been in 47 of the 48 and North Dakota might happen next month. Lily has been from Vancouver Island to Key West. From Los Angeles to Montreal. She's been to the bottom of Death Valley and 12,000 ft up in Rocky Mountain National Park. All of this would have been a lot less enjoyable without our HD series, 24v, split Cruise N Comfort AC system. Save your roof space for a deck or better yet, more solar. Don't risk another hole in your roof; you won't know you have a leak until the damage is done. Cruise N Comfort and with confidence. PS: we did have a problem with our system; it kept losing its charge. Nobody would consider diagnosing the problem, much less fix it because it's a Mercedes and if they didn't build the van, they didn't want to fix somebody else's problem - and that's exactly what it was, our up-fitter builder didn't crimp the lines at the evaporator properly. Even though she was out of warranty, both the upfitter's and Cruise N Comfort's, we took Lily to THE specialist - to Cruise N Comfort in Tempe, AZ. Chris (Chris Frye, Owner) got under the van and spotted the crimping problem immediately. Chris set us up with new (and improved lines and fittings) and a local guy that could install them - Chris was getting ready for Overland Expo and besides, it was the builder's crimp job, not a probhem with his unit. Anyway, yeah, happy campers again! Thank you Chris.
I wonder what you would charge for the same setup (Except) no generator and aircon/heater, everything can run off batter power for 8/10 hours. I assume its more but just wondering how much more.
In the UK for fast freight we tend to want 4 pallets in the back on a 4 metre floor. The latest idea is a flip down bed attached to the fixed bulkhead. Looks nice conversion tho.
I would think the majority of people working/living in these vans are 1 person so wonder why I haven't seen any modes that remove the passengers seat and use space for something. Ref/Storage or something.
Really? Find a company (not your buddy) that will do everything you see in that video, that will provide everything, that's fully insured and that can get it done in a week that's cheaper than $15k. Go ahead, I'll wait.
That's funny, but thanks for watching. Even If you hate, I still get paid. So there is about 100 more videos you can watch. I'm sure there is something in them you can hate on. Happy a great day my friend.
#1, why? They were all sealed when put back in so not to leak. #2, that defeats the whole point of having a bus. #3, it wouldn't have been in the budget anyway. #4, the owner wanted to keep the original windows because that's what gives it the bus feel. So please explain to me what the benefits are for replacing the windows with rv windows?
Thank you so much! I'm installing my ceiling today & those foam things were driving me nuts. Was unsure if they were necessary or might void my warranty if I took them out.
how do you plan to keep the refrigerator doors closed going down the street, they'll just bounce open when she hits bumps,or are you not concerned about that????
As I mentioned in the video, the latch for the doors had not come in yet. By the time she picked it up, it had a swing latch. So no, I'm not concerned about that.
Pretty darn nice build. I’m looking at this particular van because I saw a good used one for cheap. Now of course this one is for the lady but my requirement is a little different. I think the passenger seat is not required for me. The little kitchen with a little fridge run on propane and the sink above it might work. I make all my own food. I need a portapotty. Drain all my water because I’d think it’s okay. Otherwise I don’t think there’s a smarter solution to the space. Well done 👍
It has a portapotty, a sink, 12v refrigerator (propane refrigerator will require a vent to exhaust the heat and films and will still require 12v. And you have to find a place to put the propane tank).
I think you guys did a fantastic job on this conversion, I'd be proud to drop the name of your company when showing off the work put into it. Too bad you're so far away or we'd be talking about my conversion. Lots of great ideas and thanks for sharing 😃
