Man you have the grandpa effect. Grandpa could tell the same story six times and I'd still listen. Im not all that interested in many of your videos because I already learned it but I listen anyway.
This is actually incorrect. You should be purchasing a $189.00 Milwaukee dowel jig because it is red and firetrucks are red. I like fire twucks because I am a BIG boy!! I wike Milwaukee tools
Weird, after carefully explaining the process, the fixture, and the importance of flipping the edge piece up. He then doesn't follow his own instructions and just removes the fixture altogether. Which means there's no need for the hinge feature.
Wow, perfectly rational level-headed takes…a guy standing among a normal amount of both power tools and hand tools…no over the top hyperbole, neither irrational brand loyalty or hatred. Actual information with historical context thrown in. I’m confused, I think you’re doing this RU-vid thing all wrong! 😂
Thanks for the tip. I actually got hit in the gut last winter. Fortunately i had on some warm clothes and a winters coat. It took over a month for the bruses all over my stomach to turn yellow 2 months to go and a hard lump came there that took about 6 months to go away.
Plenty of other differences. Pull saws are lighter. They're lighter because they're thinner. Less kerf=less waste and more potential for more accuracy. Pulling is easier than pushing, and pulling endures that the kerf follows your arm and (hopefully) your line, whereas pushing a bendy material leaves more opportunities for the saw to chase grain and set itself off course. Pull a piece of string and see what it does... Now push the same piece of string.... We just have to admit that the Japanese (as well as many other eastern cultures who aren't as widely revered for their carpentry) saws are a superior design in every way.
My first tools were DeWalt, but as I got older I saw that Milwaukee has a bit more power and durability. But I still have both. It’s ok to try other brands.
Use a drill press OR take small piece of 1cm steel or aluminium, drill a hole using a drill press and youve got yourself a cheap 90* guide or lastly - buy one of those cheap guides at a local store.
All the craftsman drills back in the day had a bubble level in the base so you knew if you were plumb. This Chinese junk they’re making nowadays is just that.
He breaks a big safety no-no when reaching for the first cut, realizes it and does it properly on the second, without even adressing the error. Sorry dude, but you shouldn't be teaching safety. You also shouldn't be wearing rings or a watch while working with power tools, but I digress.
This is a very odd video. Your description made no sense. Can you see around corners better with a Japanese saw in your hand? The benefit is that the pull saw is thinner because it doesn't need as much thickness/stiffness due to tension doesn't bend the saw like compression. This also makes it easier to cut because you're removing less wood to accomplish your task.
Best as in, what bearings are used, what quality plastic compound and moulding is used, what quality is the armature and what is the tolerance / balance / electrical design of it and what is its longevity. What is the electrical design of the motor and what cooling performance is built into it. Are parts readily available... THIS mean best. No good having a tool that outperforms everything else when conditions are perfect, or for 5 minutes before self destructing, or until a minor issue makes it not feasible to fix it when comparing with another tool that rarely needs repairs....
Man you should make more videos about these saws! Your engagement will be through the roof with the amount of people that are mad in the comments😂 why are yall so salty about a saw demonstration??
It's interesting how many novice and even advanced woodworkers don't know how cross cut and RIP saws teeth actually work. If you look at the teeth each type has it's own job. Fascinating.
We always used a well adjusted saw, ran on the inside and flipped the stock. I never liked making jigs because unless you store them well or use them often they are kore time than they are worth, however, I like this idea.
Hey, this is super! So, I did cave in and gave Hyezmar's Woodworking Bible a good look. It's pretty simple to work on any of his projects, try on go'ogle while his still sharing it as a rough draft.
