Hi thanks so much for your amazing video. My question is can I use this video for the exam in the state of Maryland. I did graduate back in 2021 in the state of Maryland from Paul Mitchell School. But i have move back to NY and I was going to take the test but I couldn’t and I end up moving back to Maryland now I am trying to get ready for this test and I can’t found a good video that he would help me in the state of Maryland. Thanks so much and God bless.
@@mrs.goodesrockingestieclas268 I bought a lab coat just in case. I passed my exam last week. But the proctor said that you have to wear long sleeves no matter what you're wearing
Thank you so much for your video, using it to prepare for my practical. I did have a quick question, i thought the steam towel was to remove the mask but you did it for the exfoliate. Does it not matter as long as we use it correctly?
You must use steam towel for exfoliation however you could use another towel during mask if you needed or just wanted. All other videos are on gaesthetician.com.
What is systematic procedure in cosmetology... Trying to find the answer for my girlfriend, which is another way for me to support her.. that is one of the questions that is asking her in her book
Hi!!! I love this video, super helpful!! I take my exam in a few weeks and have a question! Can I have my mannequin head on top of my suitcase when I arrive? Or does it have to be in suitcase when I arrive?
I’m so glad!! I have all the different steps on my website, if you need them. gaesthetician.com The mannequin needs to be in the suitcase unless instructed otherwise at the test center.
Eyebrow question: Do we put the eyebrows on the waxing section? Makeup question: Is our mannequin staying with makeup on while we do blood exposure section and microdermabrasion?
I’m confused why you sanitize each time a applicator is tossed in the trash as long as you don’t touch or hit the bag is that truly necessary? I feel as though it would mix the product with your germ x and or your hands would smell like germ x and not the product making it unpleasant to smell as a client receiving the service.
I do it because 1. I’m not working on an actual client 2. I’m at Stateboard when performing this. When at Stateboard, I’m directly next to someone else & if we both go to the trash at the same time. One of us rattle the trash, the proctor may assume who it was and grade me accordingly. If I just sanitize each no then there is no assumption on me.
Thank you for your videos… I have a question, in the NIC document says that section 1 will ONLY set up universal supplies and Basic facial supplies then on section 2 prepare your client and perform basic facial. You prepared your client and then set up universal supplies and basic facial supplies all in one section. Can you clarify? Thanks
The bags for trash , soiled linens , and to be disinfected does it have to be plain bags or can I use the paper Trader Joe’s bags even though the logo is on there ?
From the very beginning I wanted to know if it wouldve been easier for you to have pulled out the gloves and wipes first, wiped down everything, and then set the Sanitizer down?
Only issue I see would be after I put on gloves, disinfected work area, then removed the gloves and threw away the wipe, how would I sanitize my hands prior to entering my dry storage?
@@mrs.goodesrockingestieclas268 can I have my 3 bags (items to be disinfected, soil linen , trash ) my mannequin head and hands sanitizer on top of my (closed bag) that way it’ll be easier for me to put those things out ?
Okay, eyebrows drawn on aren’t “required” they just serve as a guide for you. When my students put brows on we draw them on w/ a stencil so they are neat w/ a brow pencil then seal it w/ top coat nail polish. You DO NOT have to do this. You can perform the services w the blank face and just perform the wax/tweeze where the brow would be. It’s simulated and the proctors know that.
I’m so glad it has helped you. I do not offer study guides for the theory portion. I do have additional videos on my website if you need them for the practical.
Okay i have a question. So on part 1 “work area prep and set up” it says to prepare your work area, set up univeral supplies, and supplies for a basic facial. Then part 2 is “client prep and basic facial. And that says “you will prepare your client for services” So do u bring your mannequin out the bag and set her up at part 2 or part 1? Because im a little confused with that part because you set the mannequin up in part 1.
The facts are if you do not touch the bag then no… but if you and the person next to you go to the trash (etc) and one of you bump the bag, if one person sanitizes and not the other then it’s possible to give a point away and get marked against not sanitizing. For good practice, I’d sanitize EACH time for boards.
Just to make myself feel better, we should come with drawn brows on our mannequin heads correct? Or when do we apply our brows to our mannequin heads. I never got any type of state board training at my school.
Hi Julia, you actually do not have to have brows on the mannequins. You should check out my website if you need additional training videos on all the steps. www.gaesthetician.com
