I have question, I am an American looking to get 4 years of retired persons visa to stay in SA temporarily, with the intention of leaving afterwards. My wife and daughter will join me as well. Wife will hopefully find a job as a teacher and I’m hoping to send my daughter in to the local school for the duration of our stay. In such a situation, would I be considered a non tax resident for the entire duration of my stay?
If we have 2 bank accounts do we have to have the main account linked to SARS? We still have our old account linked which is active but not the account our salary is paid into. We have not received our payout from SARS yet and are wondering if this could be the reason.
Hi Andre, thanks for the tutorial - I have managed to change my banking details which currently show as "VALID" on the system, however on my ITR12, my old banking details are still showing so I cannot tick the button to accept the assessment because the details are not correct (even though the account is still open but I want to close it an have my refund paid into my new account). Not sure if this just means I need to wait a few days. I haven't been asked to submit any supporting documentation which is odd, but then again Discovery Accounts all show up on the ITR12 for Local Interest so maybe it's already verified as my account.
I followed all the steps calculate and it gave an amount that is due to me .. when I click submit. The estimate amount is gone 😢 from 10k to 20c . How do I fix this as it won't let me re submit

Hi, i completed my hubbys tax return for the first time ever this weekend, had to update his banking details etc...im rather confused though, as on his ITSA refund due pay date is 01/08/24 then bank transfer with refund date is 09/07/24...i successfully changed his banking details at 7am on 08/07/24...yet we have yet to receive the payment....just wondering if the payment still could have gone to the previous details or would that update have been successfully stored? I have tried making contact with sars for days now and have yet to speak to someone

Hi, I need assistance please I can log in to the Efiling but then I am stuck on the registration work page where I need to submit proof of address, ID, Photo of myself with my ID and my bank statement but I am not able to go further than this, I have uploaded everything.
Thank you, I just got approved for the ytpp and after some conversations with my wife I realized that there is no way that we are going to get paid without some tax implications, so decided to do some digging and found your channel with this post from 3 years ago. I do notice that adsense have now added a South African Tax option that is separate from US option. Maybe you should do an updated video, to keep the content fresh.
