Antonio de Cabezón fue un músico y organista invidente. Nacido en Castrillo Mota de los Judios (Burgos). Es considerado el compositor para tecla más importante del renacimiento español. Su musica al servicio de la corte de Carlos I y Felipe II tuvo una importante influencia en toda Europa.
Si bien es cierto que el discípulo aventajado de Marin Marais fue el violagambista y compositor Jacques Morel, su hijo Roland también es fiel continuador del estilo de su padre. Excelente disco.
Tengo entendido que de este autor sólo se conservan las melodías...el guitarrista se nota que sabe de contrapunto, ha hecho.un trabajo increíble reconstruyendo estás obras...la mayorías de versiones que escuchas por aquí son demasiados naif...y estoy seguro de que O'Carolan no era un simple músico de calle, es de.lo poco que queda de música académica irlandesa.

Durante el año que Haendel pasó en Italia compuso más de cien cantatas de estilo italiano muy alejadas de las cantatas de Bach, por tanto, sin coro, contrapunto ni polifonía. Cantatas generalmente para soprano y bajo continuo, y otras con instrumentación más elaboradas como las presentadas en este estupendo disco. Este tipo de cantatas sustituyeron al madrigal como género profano.
Brings back found memories of E Power Biggs who recorded the Organ transcriptions of concerti by Vivaldi/Italian masters of J G Walter as well and dedicated full 33 1/3 records to the works, and as well his distant cousin and good friend J S Bach. Back before the internet, in 1972 the Denis Agay Baroque Anthology was my only access to the Chorale Preludes of Walter or any of his music.

Hello! I would like to ask if by chance you know if there are more works by this composer recorded, not counting his Op. 1. I am a classical music collector, researching I could see that he had some sa music sacred, the rest was lost. If you know anything, let me know!
While the flute and bass viol players are fantastic, I have no idea why they aren’t named! Is it to elude problems with YT?? As a flutist myself, I’d love to know who the absolutely sublime flutist is so I can find more recordings, but now I’ll have to find the album itself to identify him/her, which isn’t necessarily a straightforward process. Then, after starting at the beginning, I skipped to the end to hear the German flutes (Les flûtes Allemandes, or transverse flutes) with violins and oboe (hautbois), but there was never an oboe to be heard! It’s also weird that the harpsichord and bass viol, which _are_ clearly heard, are never mentioned as “basso continuo;” only the ‘major’ instruments are named. So….this is too fraught. I’ll try to find the CD somewhere.
Muchas composiciones en el Barroco están compuestas con indicaciones para ser interpretadas con varios instrumentos alternativos.; violín o flauta, flauta traverso u oboe, violín o flauta dulce, etc ... Otras obras fueron arregladas para otros diversos instrumentos, por ejemplo, las sonatas Opus 5 de Corelli fueron transcritas para oboe, flauta de pico (edición 1702 Londres), o flauta travesera. En el disco de Dornel los intérpretes están arriba. Berryman acompaña a Hazelzet en las obras para dos flautas traverso.

Un muy buen disco que rehabilita la figura de Antoine Dornel. Wilbert Hazelzet en la flauta traverso, Jacques Ogg en el clavecín, Jaap ter Linden en la viola de gamba. La grabación fue realizada en la iglesia de San Miguel de Cuenca (España). Sin duda, es una música maravillosa del barroco francés.

I've heard many interpretations of these phenomenal pieces by J S Bach, but this one I can safely say I would be happy to never hear again. The playing is too precious. The performer's modern flourishes for me drown out the beauty and transcendence of these pieces, which normally are understatements of contrapuntal loveliness. I'll leave it alone at that. Thanks.
@@Renshen1957 Carpenter has said that the electronic organ is the future of the instrument. I disagree. The mechanical-action instrument is perfect and cannot be replaced.
@@Hepponisme you must be hearing it performed on bad instruments or bad musicians. I recommend catching any Jordi Savall performance you can attend. Or check out Manfredo Kramer playing, et al... It's not a "thing", it's frrrrrkkn magic. 😃😄
