Yes, pretty much, just walk outside of the airport and there will be ADO employees. There's a booth where you pay for your bus fare and they'll take you to downtown where the bus station is. From there go to your destination. The taxis outside the bus station overcharge so look out for that.
Would you please tell me how to go from Oakland International airport to Best Western View Bayside hotel, Oakland, CA? I understand that the first step is to get to Coliseum, but then from Coliseum, which train/bus to take so that I can get off at a place that minimizes the last mile walking distance?
@@Lukasimsic_ yeah the ADO buses are very safe. The public buses are safe too, but the drivers do drive quite fast, and those buses can be older and a bit ran down. I did not stay in downtown Cancun, I stayed in the Hotel Zone, which is the tourist area and is also safe.
Just returned from Cancun, 12-22-23. We did what you described and got to the airport fine. The cost is a negligible 120 pesos for the airport/ Cancun portion for the ADO coach, R-1 and R-2 regular bus service is still 12 pesos- per person. We were told to get a R-1 bus to go back to the ADO terminal. It picked us up 20 yards from Hotel grounds, a somewhat more city bus that was bumpier and jerkier, according to the drivers' individual style. ( We took the bus several times during our stay). 100 % accurate video, very helpfull and - the way to go- It's very easy, and a good way to save some $. Excellent video, short and to the point, with all the facets you need.
I am glad you found the information useful, and thank you for updating us and verifying current prices. When I went they did not tell us about R-1 being the one that goes to the ADO terminal, it was either or, so that is something to look out for! There really is no need to use taxis that want to charge you as much as 80 dollars for something you can do easily on the bus. Thank you for watching!
Thank you very much. I have not lived in the Bay Area for 15 years but I am going back next year to catch my last ever A's game before they leave for Las Vegas. It will be 52 years since I stepped into the Coliseum to see my first ever Major League game as a 10 year old. I will leave early from Albuquerque, catch the game and fly home the same day. Crazy but it will be fun. Thanks, Doug Belen, New Mexico
I do have plans on making more videos. I should be traveling back to Cancun soon. There are many areas I did not get to visit and I believe some short videos could be helpful for first time travelers. I myself was a first time traveler and decided to make this video. It is my first video ever and I hope to do better as I make more. Have you been to Cancun? Thank you for watching.
@@travelingwithmartin is One of the best videos I have seen on the bus system in Cancun. Do you speak Spanish? I am attempting to learn before we travel in June. Considering the Oleo Cancun Playa penthouse rental.
@@ayden3461 Thank you for your kind words. I do speak Spanish. I actually linked the Spanish version of this video in the pinned comment I put in this video. It's just on a different channel. With the simple bus system in the hotel zone, there is absolutely no reason to ever take an Uber or Taxi to move around. I hope you were able to learn and see how simple it is.
Nice video - very helpful. How did you say you alert the bus driver that you want to get off the bus - do you press a button? I'm always stressed I can't get off at the right place... Also when are the buses most filled - in between what hours, do you know? I'm thinking if workers go to hotel zone to work the buses may be very filled... we will be trying to use the bus when not too busy... Thank you!
Thank you for the comment. I am glad you found this helpful. There are red buttons alongside the handrails which you press and that prompts the bus driver to make the next stop. What I personally did, I used my GPS so I could know when I was getting close to my destination and thus getting ready to get off. As for the most busy times, it would be the usual "rush hour" as in any location. Early in the morning and then again around 3-5pm. But, during those hours, it feels like there are more buses running. So you will not have any issues getting on. I recommend going straight to the back or staying close to the front (near the doors) so getting off is easier. It was my first time in Cancun and I had no issues, which is why I decided to make this video to show people what it is that I learned.
