Just got back into Skyrim after not playing for quite a while, and this is one of the many things I loved to do in the game. Book-keeping. Every house filled with books, and anytime I have to leave on a quest, I'll take a couple books I haven't read yet to read on the trip. New subscriber because this is the type of content I hope to create one day. Very enjoyable.
Great content! This is gonna be a great series to put on at 2am when the sleep paralysis demon is going hard with fornite dances in the corner of my eye
Absolutely and thanks for checking out the series! That’s the same reason why I started playing this game- I did Witcher 2 & 3 first and had to know what Witcher 1 one was all about. ~DubbaSlick
I really didn't expect the story to go the way it did, or to be so focused on this city, though it's making some sense! Looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I was super bummed you ended up killing Ramsmeat -- and not be able to call out the investigator when he was body switched. All over this stort is pretty bonkers. The crap talking ghost was so absurd, loved it. Here's hoping this chapter won't be so convoluted, and there won't be any more stone-like quests barring progress. Or wolf pelts. Thanks so much for sharing the ttrpg game! It has to be cool to see a depiction of the city. Do you think you'd stick with your own mental map of it?
Haha I agree… “Bonkers” is a great way to describe this whole thing so far. And yeah, I can’t wait to see this play out too. Both the ghost and Raymond/Azar’s body switching were two great moments and I’m really hoping that we get more of those down the road. You’re right, FINALLY seeing the actual city of Vizima was so sick! Kinda mind blowing really. I spent so much time writing out potential plot points through out the city with only a 2D birds-eye-view of the map and now I have a whole other perspective. And that’s a good question- I honestly might stick to the mental map. In my head the Trade Quarter was so much bigger with a lot more to do in it. However, if we start that game again I might add some elements from this Witcher1 play through for extra flavor. Ps, Jean-Pierre will never get those wolf pelts… haha ~DubbaSlick
@@StormGamingAlliance @StormGamingAlliance Meeee too. I'm curious what the big twists are going to be. Surely SOMETHING with Alvin and Dandelion (dan-dil-ion is such a great way to pronounce it). I really appreciated getting some background on them. That makes sense! It sounds like the game has certainly given a lot to think about and add in a way text itself can't, but it's limited itself. One of the big praises of 3 that I hard often was that the cities feel like cities. Even so, Jean-Pierre'll never gives up hope, he'll keep asking no matter how many times Geralt pushes past him.
Oh, also, wanted to thank you since the channel got me into watching The Witcher, which I definitely wouldn't have watched on my own. I hope the other projects are going well, and hope some of the ttrpg's can make it onto the channel! Or more multiplayer, like the eso episode. Either way, thanks to everyone at the channel!
It is nice to see you still going strong! I admire the dedication, and still finding things to explore! Taking a break seemed to help out, too! I stalled out in my own playthrough when I went to Solsthiem. It was interesting; I made an effort to stay at inns and spend time in places like that, because why not? It was eerie, since at a certain time, everyone in the inn suddenly switched to working for Miraak and would head out. Then that night I was under his influence, working on a rock on the other side of the map! Amazing story material.. but I ended up going back a few saves to instead wander aimlessly around Skyrim. So, it's nice to be able to watch you explore the story! I'm surprised the door puzzle in here seemed pretty complex! Its cool they used it for the morag tong.
Thank you so much! I miss being back in Skyrim but Solstheim is pretty cool! That sounds hilarious just randomly waking up across the island and that puzzle always impressed me too! -Zack "The Winter Warlock"
that was awesome, I need to watch the earlier episodes. I have to admit, I built my character really weirdly so I had a bit more trouble with the fights and ended up spending half my life in those damn swamps lol
Haha that sounds brutal! Did you put experience points into stuff outside of combat skills? Either way, I’m so glad that I’m finally done with the swamps! I don't know what the game has in store next but I really hope the swamps aren't involved.
@@StormGamingAlliance I basically built my character like a mixed bag because I wanted to try out everything. Later focused more on combat just because I had to, ha ha. Still, it was a pretty nice experience overall.
@@StormGamingAlliance yep he's just a simple guy who slashes monsters on his way to some jam for his toast. imho in terms of character development, W1 is better than W3 so it's definitely worth playing around with all those skill trees
Yes, quite the cliffhanger. Not to be pushy (lol) but I'm still waiting for our adventurous friend to kick back and read the riveting page turner called "the lusty argonian maid".
Thank you! I am enjoying reading them. I have played the game so many times and never took the time to read the books until now and I definitely missed out!! -The Winter Warlock
Just starting this playlist now, I have been enjoying your Adventures of Jacoby playlist mostly. (For some reason this is the "first" vid for this playlist)
@@StormGamingAlliance Cool. I would love to see Jacoby experience the many things in Skyrim world. (perhaps as he continues his journey in the new land he decides to enchant a few things to give him an edge?) Either way, I love your storytelling and can't wait to see more. (By the way, you have a great voice for reading the books in)
@@StormGamingAlliance with them you can get a level 252 character with all skill trees maxed out without mods although it is a bit time consuming but even if your not an all rounder completionist like myself you can still use the tricks to get certain builds if that’s your thing
Bethesda should stop making games and instead sell their books to be made into movies. There’s treasure in that universe. Thank you for the video - inspiration
That's awesome the cave dive paid off so well. It really seems like you have to do kinda everything but the main quest to progress it, which is pretty cool. I really didn't expect the first game to look as good as it does! You totally don't suck.
Hey, thanks Darcie! And yeah I agree, this game has some quirks but it does look great. Having to do all of the “splintering” side stories to move the main quest has been a little frustrating so far but it’s cool to see how much the quest system has been refined in the two sequels. By the way, thanks for checking out our channel. We really appreciate it! -DubbaSlick
Hello Gents, don't knock yourselves, the ESO quest markers can be somewhat confusing a lot of the time, and might I suggest a few delves and side quest to bump your levels up a tad (maybe level 20) before going back in there. You were also close with the bells and the Daedric script, take a look around that room, you might find it illuminating...But that was enjoyable to watch, despite your demises...Always nice to watch people enjoying a first Dungeon in ESO...Good luck with the channels and hope to see more ESO from you both soon.
I wonder what is the "real world" equivalent of the "glass" used in glass armor?🤔 I am currently playing Skyrim (GotY edition, with the 3 dlcs) once again (after several years). After I built my magnificent "Lakeview" manor, I generously stocked it full of various books and make it a point to read them all, especially the famous book "the Lusty Argonian Maid" of which I eagerly await to hear you narrate 😊
Thanks for another chapter in this exciting and fun-filled adventure in Skyrim. I truly look forward to when good ol'Jacoby can sit down, take a well-deserved breather from his exploits, and read "The Lusty Argonian Maid," as I hear it is the best book for improving "One-Handed Skills"in the game! 😂 "Watch the skies"
Imagine Jacoby while visiting Markarth decides to take a break from his adventuring to sit down and read "The Horror of Castle Xyr" in "The House of Horrors" 🥶
Imo, nothing rekindles the hearth fire quite like the most beloved novel in all of Tamriel "The Lusty Argonian Maid." The passionate experiences of "Lifts-Her-Tail" are not to be missed wayfarer, and to hear such a tenderly touching novel narrated surly would bring warmth to all Tamriel.
I have such low patience for radiant quests, there's no way I'd grind them out without fast travel. I'm glad you were able to get one of them cured!!! I never got far in the Companions quest...I tend to forget they're in Whiterun. The "true nord" thing just didn't vibe with me. For a game I still play and have such fond memories of, I really seem to dislike a lot about it! I really appreciate your playthrough, and way you shape a story. It's inspiring me to try a few things next time I play -- mostly not looting and harvesting every single plant and item I see. Looking forward to Solsthiem adventures, and super curious about what else you were planning on doing this chapter.
Yeah I have never spent so much time on The Companions in any other play-through because I hate all of the radiant quests as well. I am glad you are enjoying the series and I cannot wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds! -The Winter Warlock
@@StormGamingAlliance Yeah, it's a big shame, especially since none of the guild storylines were particularly strong. I think the Bard's College might be the only one I wanted more of as it was. Most of the others I wanted something different. Though, as I was thinking on it, it did occur to me that there's the constant theme of the world ending, and how pretty much all factions are going through a slow death vs a quick cataclysm. Anyway, thanks so much for sharing Jacoby's Adventures and the library!
I, too, have never been super impressed with the Guilds/Factions either and the Bard's College always seemed like a throw-away that didn't get the attention it needed. The game certainly shows some age there. Thank you so much for popping in and sharing your thoughts and experiences!!! -The Winter Warlock
@@StormGamingAlliance Yeah, it really says something that Jacoby, showing no interest whatsoever in magic or teaching, was somehow the first choice to be Headmaster of the College. I think I ended up with whiplash. It does pad out his resume quite nicely, at least! Have a good week! See you around. :)
Vilkis is more a voyeur than an active participant in dragon battles, heck in any random encounters, Vilkis was just pulling out his weapon seconds after the enemy was dead. Almost like ol'Vilkis was doing it all (being a straggler & late drawing his weapon) on purpose, lol.
Hi, I've been watching this series since the start of chapter 4, and wanted to let you know I've been enjoying your playthrough, and the videos reading the books. Intro&outro music is fantastic. Congrats on getting all the masks! I haven't finished it, either. I like your approach to the companions as well; I never got far into that faction due to the whole werewolves thing. I'm really looking forward to Dragonborn, and I liked how you incorporated it! I can't wait to see what happens, and am looking forward to seeing what Jacoby does before leaving the country. I'd like to see revisiting favorite places, and friends. I also really, really appreciate that you're playing console skyrim. I've recently purchased AE in my switch, and it's made me really miss the original! Most items are overly powerful, or trying to recapture something great from Oblivion, which just makes me want to play Oblivion! Have a great day, thanks for the series, and best of luck growing the channel!
Thank you so much for words of encouragement! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the show and look forward to having you along for the rest of the story! -The Winter Warlock
Interesting, not sure if I knew that. It is a common issue that I run into where some ore veins won't activate until I leave the location and come back or reload the game. Gotta love the Skyrim bugs!
