Yeah I get u. I have read almost every fiction work from Ayn Rand. He stole the first 2 thirds from “Atlas shrugged”, mixed it with “The Fountainhead”, put it in a happy meal and changed the ending. The main difference is that in A.S. the government don’t reconcile with the virtuous ones since they believe they don’t have to be controlled by it nor charged by it (taxes). In Megalopolis, they do reconcile with them since Coppola believes that taxes came from Rome (which they did) and somehow we need to still pay them.
Personally, it’s his way to give homage to the U.S. since he needs to be seen as a good boy aka a good American aka keep his green card. He warns of gay people being a scam to control government. Yes, some individuals can do that. In Atlas Shrugged, Rand warns of a woman defending women’s rights but being an ally with corrupted Washington workers. The thing that I got to say is that Ayn Rand’s works are far better than this, but this was a good try from a homophobe Italian mobster who wants to pretend to be a good old man by pretending he invented objetctivist philosophy (which Ayn Rand did). I would’ve done an Atlas Shrugged adaptation with all that money since he somehow is trying to hide it with his optimistic delusions since he’s close to dying.
I do like science fiction movies. I'm finding I'm liking a lot of low budget science fiction movies on Tubi. I think Hollywood is going down and will be replaced by these types of movies.
Agree with a lot you said my friend. I had a lot of fun with this movie! Some story struggles and plot issues for sure but the chemistry between Ryan and Hugh soared and the characters of Deadpool and Wolverine as this odd couple through this multiversal adventure was what made this movie worked. I don’t think it saved the MCU, but it put a nice button on the end of the Fox Marvel franchise while being hilarious and 100% authentically Deadpool. Great review!
This is pretty funny. Yeah, the movie is hot garbage. Three hours of it. Costner should and probably will cut his losses and run. No amount of additional excavation of these characters will save it. As Roger Ebert once said, “if nothing interesting happens in the first twenty minutes, nothing interesting will happen.”
You said it! The movie is absolutely awful. Terrible writing & editing. We walked out at 2 hours and 45 minutes. I won’t sit for 3 hours to just wait until movie 2 to find out what the F is going on.
