At $250 for the Atlas on Amazon Canada vs. $22 for the clone, it's difficult to support non-Chinese companies. A few pieces of stamped steel, a few fasteners and 10 mins of assembly ...c'mon Atlas, you serious?

I don't have one of these throttle locks yet, but I'm guessing if you score a small area where the pad is applied, removing the paint and scratching it up a little, the pad will probably adhere to the bare metal surface better and hold much longer.

Since OP is unable to post links and Amazon has clearly taken them down, then head over to EBay and they are extremely easy to find. Just purchased 3 of them because I know I got friends that will want them. Also big thanks to OP for this video and posting! Been wanting one of these for years but don’t use lock enough to spend that much. Almost pulled trigger today on $155. At least till I found this video. I have used it before on bikes not of my own and definitely prefer this style over any other lock system. For the price of this particular model, 100% worth the try!

i bought the cheap knock off one too, I'm not sure how the atlas one is, but this one you find the right sized tape rubber for the stop, peel and stick it to the steel, i cleaned mine up with alcohol really good first then stuck it, it worked pretty good for a little bit, then it the hot heat it must've made the glue slide until it fell off. it's a pain to find the right thickness of rubber strip first. I'm not sold on it, honestly i wish i would've saved the 60$and stuck it towards the brakeaway one. Also I'm mechanically smart, maybe the real one is better. but i need to look at it
@nowheelierick
@nowheelierick 3 месяца назад
Mechanics have to be close to them same. I have used the Atlas on bikes and loved it. Just ordered the eBay ones as stated above and will try them out. I will say even with the Atlas, it can be difficult to find the right size since options at limited from Atlas. Also remember that over time they will wear out regardless. I have seen people use the rubber parts that go inside cabinets as replacements with good results. Just have to find one that works either your setup. Heat is a concern for me as well, so I’ll see how it goes. It’s cheap enough to try.

I watched a RU-vid video and made my own for my last bike for under $20 ( shout out to that dude ) . A few large washers , 1 pan head screw , some 3m double sided tape and some epoxy . It was easy and it's barely even noticeable between the grip and throttle housing . It's also held up for 3 years and counting . Still for about $25 this might be the ticket for my new bike and for most people , even if it is from CHINA. But even if it sux you can always make a better one with a few bucks and a little hard work.
@Roger_Gustafsson

I think I paid less for it from Temu. And I also got a quad lock phone holder that feels pretty much like the original for nothing. Because the originals are asking for stupid money for chinese made stuff.

My decision to never buy anything from Temu is that they use slave, child labor. They also use toxic materials to make their products. Like lead based paint and other materials banned in the US. But you do you. I also won't use my money to support the CCP.

I understand your choice to go cheap but you are not seeing the entire picture. Messing with your throttle isn't something you should take lightly. Our price is directly connected to the amount of quality control our products go through every step of the way. There's no safe way to cut corners with a device that holds your throttle. I wish we could lower our price but we would then be sacrificing our customer's safety and safety has always been our first goal. You do you but you're risking an open throttle that's mechanically locked. I own multiple counterfeit versions of my invention and they are made incorrectly throughout. I won't go in depth explaining the issues but I will make it clear that those counterfeit manufacturer's don't have your best interest at heart.

Your design does look and work well, but the price is way off to what the value of the item actually is. It seems you are doing well enough though, so stop commenting on other products that proves your ridiculous costing.
