As a Melodifestivalen/Eurovision loving Swede, I can still say that Edward's commentary is one of the best parts with watching Eurovision every year. He's also a legend that wrote amazing scripts both for Melodifestivalen for several years and for Eurovision 2013 and 2016. I can't wait for May when he's gonna do the script again!

I hope we get a 2023 version, because the two guys we had this year were hilarious I distinctly remember "Och om du kommer ihåg det, är du nog inte helt heterosexuell" Which translates to: "And if you remember that, you're probably not completely Heterosexual"
Hope someone make a video of 2023 best Edward quotes too translated. Like when he was introducing Albania. "It's Albina, her mom Albana, and her brother Albin. The family dentist Dr Alban couldn't make it unfortunately".😆

In case anyone is wondering, Edward af Sillén will be commenting the Swedish broadcast again this year (never stop!), and by his side this time, he will have Måns Zelmerlöw by his side (as he did in 2017). Hope someone put subtitles on this years edition too! (And perhaps earlier editions as well?)
How have I only just found this?! Edward is as iconic as Terry Wogan or Graham Norton in the UK, I've wanted to see him subtitled for years and it's just as good as I expected!
Don't be ridiculous, our least favorite neighbor is Denmark, they don't even have a real language! And finland is the only thing standing between us and russia so I guess that makes them the favorties by default and at 15:15 they said she was 'standing in a big pool' (fountain)
Hahaha - I have a close friend from Denmark, and it's so funny sometimes! Danish to us sounds a lot like they speak with a potato in their mouth - but to them, Swedish sounds really awfully posh 😂 I love my country-neighbors

Ja, troligtvis Edward, men skulle gissa att de kör en ny sidekick, brukar ju vara olika varje år. Linnea var ju en av programledarna för Melodifestivalen 2020, och det har ofta varit en f.d melodifestivalenprogramledare som är hans sidekick, så kanske det blir Farah Abadi och Edward af Sillén som kommenterar Eurovision i år. Eller kanske nån annan Melodifestivalen-profil? Kanske Cornelia kan gå i Sanna Nielsens, Måns Zelmerlöws och Charlotte Perellis fotspår och vara Eurovision kommentator tillsammans med Edward af Sillén?
Yeah, they're not 100% literal most of the time, but they do translate to expressions of basically the same meaning! (... with some small mistakes, yes)
The best part from the commentary for me was when after San Marino he said "If the final ends in a tie the winner will be determined after who can sit the longest on San Marino's bull".
I love our Swedish commentators and always laugh at their comments. I remember a year of Edward saying something along the lines of “all the people in this group have failed to make it as solo singers and now they can experience failing as a group too” But I can’t remember which year it was or which country he meant.
Sofia (the channels creator) is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she will since this channel is officially inactive and her other channel is lifestyle themed. But I'm feeling very inspired to do a video of my own of this year's Swedish commentators, if Sofia's not going to. 🙏

Hello everyone! I have another channel called @sofiamoilanen . In a week the new translated version of this years Eurovision will be uploaded. This time with Edward and Måns👊🏻
Everyone who says they want Petra Mede back to host, should also remember add this guy, Edward af Sillén, since he was the one who wrote the script for the Eurovision hosts in both 2013 and 2016. And songs like "Love Love Peace Peace", "What is Eurovision", "Swedish Smorgasbord" If you thought Petra and Måns were funny, it's a lot thanks to this guy. He also created the character Linda Woodruff together with Sarah Dawn Finer. He also created the host's scripts for Melodifestivalen 2009 (when Petra Mede hosted), 2012, 2013, and 2016. The comedy of Melodifestivalen has gone downhill since then, imho, and I hope he will return! And I also hope he is getting ready to write the script for Eurovision 2024! Fingers crossed.
I wish we could get that type of humor again, mello right now only has cringe-type humor you would only find at the Oscars. Love Farah and Oscar though.
Edward is amazing but what i heard he do have alot of stage fear so i don’t think that would be good for his mental health but he do many other things that has to do with eurovision.
@@boel6725 How would writing scripts be bad if you have stage fear? If you thought I meant that he should be a host too, then that wasn't what I meant, I meant that he should be added as a script writer, as he were before, without him Petra and Måns wouldn't have been the great hosts they were.
