I am a Lifestyle Portrait and Brand Photographer who also loves fashion. Through this channel, I will share my love for these two things...Photography and Fashion.
I shoot Raw. If I had to do news or events etc, sport and so on - where you need decent quality but more importantly need to deliver jpegs quickly, I would shoot jpeg. But I shoot for image quality, not speed, and not volume. In Raw, I can develop the different tones in the image differently- noise, white balance, tonality etc etc can all be done to deal with different aspects of the image. Often not as a function of the technical image but rather because of some artistic intent you may have. Maybe some clever AI can match this in future, but “ it is not THIS day! ….” I learnt a lot about these options from using Darktable.
@@gerhardbotha7336 Great points!!! Image quality is a biggie for me being that I am mainly a portrait photographer that dabble in landscapes/nature. Having the Raw files is like my security blanket. I try my best to get it right in camera but I know if I need to manipulate something, I have the Raw file. Do you like DarkTable? I'm looking for another editing platform other than Adobe.
I just sold my r6 and bought the Mark 2. No overheating issues even after 60 minutes of continuous recording. The upgrade is well worth it. Not to mention the extra 4 mp and the 6k. Autofocus seems to be faster than r6 as well.👌
The algorithm sent you to me because we are in the same boat. Tho my dilemma was between Sony A7IV or canon R6M2. And I prefer to hear this from a woman photographer.
@@fromnishasview I had a canon the old ones and I did like the colors especially. I have had a Sony those a 5000 I think and honestly I remember it being difficult to use. arrrrg it’s difficult. Still today trying to figure out. But I see allot of women actually use canon so I might be heading that way. I think what I love mostly about Sony is auto focus. My little zv1 does so good with auto focus and I had the canon g7 I think and the focus was horrible and sometimes I could hear the nose in the video when it was trying to focus. But am sure it’s different with the these better cameras. So I am waiting to see what you decide also
@@Milly_in_denmark Yeah I've heard Sony autofocus has always been good. But Canon has gotten waaaay better over the years with AF. I really am leaning toward R6Markii. I will definitely share once I choose.
@@fromnishasview I think also its the thing that canon's lenses are damn expensive. Allot of people will go back to canon if they did something about the lenses.
@@Milly_in_denmark Whewww the lenses!!! But I heard that Tamron is making an RF mount for Canon!!! Excited for that if they do!!! I still use some of my EF mount lens with the adapter. I've also bought used EF lens as well.
Send canon a email and let them know.. and tag canon.. I have the R6, I haven’t experienced this… yet…..I don’t use the r6 all the time.. that’s why sometimes I feel like you always have to have a backup. You have the eosR. Great camera.. great video!!
I recently bought R6Mii as my first mirrorless. I love it! I think I made the right decision over R8. -IBIS -Dual SD card slot -Bigger battery -Better grip -Doesn't overheat from my experience so far I wish you make the right decision as well.
I’m on the same boat. I went to B&H on Tuesday to ask about the differences between the two, and one major difference is IBIS for the R6 mark II. Btw, what strap do you have on your camera? It looks great!
Are you having overheating issues with your R6 as well? Ohhhh so the R8 doesn't have IBIS. That definitely would be a step back. Thank you for that!!! Very helpful. My straps are from Amazon...the vendor is Tether. Very good quality!
Literally in the same position as you, got the R6 and have been looking at the Mark ii, yeah ain't got that R5 money or if it's coming out, ain't going to have the R5 Mark ii money for sure.
Thank you for sharing your thought process. What are your go to lenses for portraits? How did you get into being a professional portrait photographer in the first place?
Thank you!!! My favorite portrait lens is the Canon RF 85 1.8. But If I'm in a tight space and don't have room to back up, I will reach for the 50mm or even the 35. It started with my daughter. She had a Canon T3i and the background was blurry on some pictures. I said what is that...& the rest is history...fell in love with the bokeh😂.
Love it Nisha!!! Can’t wait to get your take after May 15, this week. My R6 overheats, too. I had buy a separate, external fan. That fixed it. But it doesn’t fix the 30min record limit. So I’m ready to grab something else to go along with the C70.
Canon is having an event on May 15th and they are releasing two new camera bodies which are the R5 Mkii and the R1. It's possible that those will not be the only bodies, but right now those are the ones that are being talked about the most. The R6 MKii is currently on sale for $1999 and the R8 is on sale for $1199 until May 19th so now is a good time to buy. I'm buying the R8 and it'll be my 1st full frame body as I begin my photography journey.
Ohhhh, so I may need to wait and see what these other two new ones will offer??? But I know they will be out of my budget😂. I seen that the R6 Mark 2 was on sale and it is very tempting!! Some people say you can't tell a difference between a crop sensor and full frame but trust there is a difference, to me! You will enjoy the R8 as your 1st!
❤❤❤ great lighting, instructional videos, Nisha. This is very timely and needed it and I have to say your production value is very very good. Keep up the great work you are appreciated.
You popped up in my feed and ibsaid "why not". Your video had a technique i hadn't seen "butterfly" and clarified others. You also had a calming and eaay to understand presentation. Great job and thank you.
Hey Nisha. Loved the video. I subscribed. Want to see more from you. I'd love to link up with you I am a Houston Photographer. Check out my RU-vid as well. I'd love to talk techniques with you.
