I have 2 halo75 v2 one with lemon and the other with raspberry and they both sound great and feel great. The raspberries did take time to get used too as I am used to tactile switches. But that only took about a week or so. I would like to try the mint but they might be too light for me.
If Raspberry is already hard for you to get used to, Mint will be even harder. Their linear switches are too mushy. There is no feel of the actual "typing"
I returned my MX Mechanical for Mac and got the Nuphy Air 75 V2 with cowberry switches. Totally glad I did. The Nuphy keyboard is so satisfying to type on. The MX feels so lifeless compared to the Nuphy. The MX is nice to look at but the typing experience is not so great. No satisfying clicks or sound
great video! do you think that this keyboard with the tactile quiet (brown switches) is quiet enough to use it in public places, without annoying others around me (for example in a coffee shop, in a train or in study rooms)?
Thank you so much for this video! I have an air 96 for my computer at work and on Fridays we get to work remotely and I was getting so tired of having to pack the keyboard in the original box that I was close to having to buy a spare keyboard for home just because I couldn’t find a case for this thing 😅
Nuphy is looking good, and sounding good and I hope it feels good. I really like how the Logitech "wave" feels; it just doesn't have l.e.d. or backlit keys.. that's just something I want right now. I probably don't need backlit keys since I touch type but I think it will look good on my desk & inspire me to write more.
@@recursion. I haven't seen others sharing about modding the mx mechanical series. Probably because people who buy this series are mostly not the type who want to mod anything..
can you tell me what mice you currently own? I need a new one and you led me to the nuphy75 and i ended up purchasing the 96after watching your mx video.
Is logi a real choice when looking for a quality keyboard? I dont think so. Spekaing from experience I hated any of the logi keyboards the office kept pushing on me. Mushy chicklet, low profile key caps. Finally was able to get a Keychron Q6 and never realized just what a quality keyboard can do. Or what I was missing in a keyboard.
I must tell anyone who purchases the MX mechanical for the feel of it, It's not a really good choice. I have the tactile quiet one and the keys feel mushy. I really wished I bought the linear or clicky versions for the better feel. The sound is okay compared to custom built keyboards that are allover youtube nowadays.
Wow, the Logi Mechanical sounds really cheap, breaks my heart as a longtime fan of Logitech hardware. Also have to say though, my stock Air96 sounds significantly more thocky than this modded Air75... wonder how much that is due to the setup of mic, table etc.
Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of getting one of these compact keyboards. Another important point to cover in future coverage of keyboards is whether longer keys like SHIFT, CAPSLOCK, ENTER, BACKSPACE etc have 3-point support bars under them as seen under most SPACEBARS. As a programmer who just used whatever gaming keyboard I had to hand (Corsair and Razer), I found that these keyboards had no support on these longer keys and after 6 months, the plastic stem of those keys become loose and eventually breaks. The side view we see in your Logitech review seems to show the CAPSLOCK has a support bar but it's not quite clear if the SHIFT key below has one too. As well as the sound and feel, I recommend you also take off the key caps of longer keys to show whether they have support bars as this is indicative of a manufacturer who cares about engineering good quality productivity keyboards that is so lacking in almost all gaming keyboards.
i use logi k800 in bios through Unifying reciever with no problem. The Bolt reciever uses identical protocol (2.4hz) so it should works similar if not same.
The tactile and the linear switches may sound different, but having tried both, I hardly fin a difference between them - at least not the same as between tactile and linear switches of regular height.
Hi quick question: Do you think this keyboard with the brown switches would be acceptable for a work-at-home call-centre environment where it is already too quiet and the keystroke sounds might seem amplified to the person on the other end?
Acceptable for me in a quiet office. However, this is a mechanical keyboard. Anything in the mechanical keyboard grade is absolutely louder than conventional keyboard. So I suggest to order on Amazon and try. If it doesn't suite you, return it.
i really like nuphy air 75 typing experience much more than mx mechanical ... it's far more enjoyable to write ... but I did a lot of typo due to the 75 layout ... that's why I will stick with mx mechanical for now I really wish if there's a keyboard that combines mx mechanical layout + nuphy air typing experience
had same issue so I bought the mx mechanical mini, air60 and air75. returned air75 and mainly type on air60 but keep looking at the MX. Waiting for NuPhy to release shine through keycaps so that I can swap them on the MX. After suing these keyboards, I now hate typing on the Apple keyboards.
Which of the switches (linear or tactile) would you say has the larger actuation force? Meaning, which is less like to be accidentally pressed with minimal pressure?
Tactile. But to be honest they are both not as firm if you compare to other mechanical keyboards. Have you tried Nuphy Air 75? I think a lot of people will like that one better if they figure out how to update its firmware.
@@HarleyPan Ya, I was planning on testing all 3: Keychron K3, Nuphy Air, and MX Mechanical Mini to try and see which low profile board would suit me best. I've head similar complaints about this keyboard on top of the keys feeling a bit too "wobbly" and cheap.
@@adequatequality the Logitech's key caps are actually quite heavy and quality is good. Nuphy on the other hand is a bit lighter. But Nuphy brown key's feedback is way more tactile than Logitech tactile in my opinion. Logitech sinks and doesn't bounce/click that much. ..
@@HarleyPan I actually opted for the Air 75 over the MX Mechanical due to price. I went with the linear switches, but have found myself double-pressing keys way too much, so I have some brown switches on the way to see if that helps. I'm missing the numpad more and more though, so I ordered a Keychron K10 to see how it feels and if the bluetooth is usable with my M1 MacBook Air along with wired mode for my main Windows desktop.
