Just came back to this video after a bunch of real life events hit me and reminded me of this. As a closeted 16 (almost 17) year old trans man, it's a MIRACLE that I'm getting officially diagnosed on paper soon. I only managed to talk to a psychologist and start regular therapy sessions after my mum finally snapped and reported my dad's domestic abuse to the police, described what happened, and everyone involved (my mum, my dad, me & my sibling) started mandatory therapy. My psychologist noticed some autistic traits in my behaviour in the first few meetings and tried to explain to my parents what this is all about (my mum at first was slightly doubtful, but after I told her about my many odd experiences she started to understand, while my dad was just incredibly ableist at first, then with some more time and an explanation from my therapist he started to also get what this is all about). I'm very lucky to finally know why I've been having many issues with my social skills, strong sensory issues, and etc. in my life. Now both me and whoever I interact with know that when I don't fully understand a task or sentence, it's not because I'm insanely stupid, but because I just naturally think with a whole different point of view, and the official diagnosis should be enough for the "I don't care, self-diagnosis isn't real" people to understand 💀😭🙏
