IF the stock has been cut on a good table saw, there is NO reason to joint the piece more than once on the edges. IE: simply cut the stock's width 1/8" over size. Then joint 1/16" off each edge just once. The only time you have to plane the stock more than once; is if the stock is not level and/or rough. But even here, in MOST cases you are wasting your time by continually running it through the jointer or the planer more than once or twice.

Strålende idé, Tommy. Det gjør jo ikke noe ikke å måtte kjøpe 32 mm-skinnen :-)! Jeg tror jeg skal følge ditt eksempel, men jeg har lyst til å lage et 240x60 cm dypt bord å ha langs veggen for beinfast høvling og prepping av lange bord.
