What type of resin do you use? I’ve been trying spoons for the last 2 seasons and my resin either gets really sticky and hazy or it flakes off then it’s to light to sing and work properly
@flytyingtex
@flytyingtex 18 дней назад
@@michaelbacile8439 I use Loon Outdoors UV Clear Fly Finish. It’s expensive but great. I have a UV light bulb in a shop light and I let my resin flies cure for like 30+ min to make sure the resin isn’t sticky. How long do you have the up light on your resin?

Ahh maybe I’ll have to do that then. I’ve got loon too but I haven’t let it cure that long. Maybe 5 mins. I’ll try to let it sit longer next batch and see how she does. Thanks for the reply!

@@JHducks I go to the men’s shaving section in Walgreens and pick the double sided shaving blades. I’ll snap them in half and use one of the edges. I typically use my scissors a lot more than the razor though… which is why my llanolope flies aren’t very crisp 😂. Mine are sloppy but still effective.

@@kadencesmith3623 Thanks for the feedback! I haven't made as much effort on my youtube videos as I have on my Instagram content. When you add the music, you have to do it inside the app which means it is an extra step after I have already edited, voiced over, added text, and resized the framing of the video. What I have been doing for a while now is just editing everything in Cap Cut and then uploading that same video to all of my social media platforms and then calling it a day.

So how well does that float with the antelope hair instead of deer hair ?
@flytyingtex
@flytyingtex 3 месяца назад
It’s more buoyant than deer hair but less resilient. It gets torn to bits by toothy fish or after a long day of catching a lot of fish, the hair will get pretty frazzled and then you can go back in w a razor blade and reshape it. I love it bc it lands really lightly on the water.
