Omg! I have watched so many videos and read so many articles but your explanation just helped me understand aperture. Thank you so much for explaining this concept in no uncertain terms. You have gained a sub!
Just wondering what the differences is when change this exposure v ISO … I realise with ISO you can change shutter speed and aperture to get better results ie higher or lower numbers
Common issue. There are THREE variables that determine how bright your photo is (ie how bright the exposure is).. shutter speed, aperture and ISO. If you hold any 2 of these steady and change one of them, you get different brightness/exposure. None of them 'control exposure' more than any of the others. Exposure is the result of all 3. Depending what camera mode you;re in, you can control various ones of these 3, or all of them (manual mode). If you lift one, you can drop another and still get the same brightness/exposure. If you JUST lift ISO and keep other 2, then photo is brighter. If you lock two of them and let one be automatic, and then ASK for the exposure to be brighter, then the camera will lift that 3rd variable for you, so that you then get the brighter exposure... know what I mean? Good luck.
Thanks for making this. I watched this a few years back. You were my go to anytime i got stuck so tonight i shared it with my niece who has decided to study photograohy and film. Great tutorial!
Just bought the associated Kindle e-book via Amazon, absolute steal at just £8 UK Sterling. Great add on I can just carry around on my phone. Thanks so much Chris, still the best source of info I have found
Thanks Chris, this is the best time for anyone even remotely interested in photography to spend on RU-vid. Many thanks for not only imparting your photography knowledge but also for sharing with us how to talk/teach about a subject - about which you are very knowledgeable. You distilled it down for us to the most important things and explained so eloquently with excellent supporting imagery - my hats off and you have my gratitude!
Honestly I was gonna start uni and do photography but I stumbled upon Chris. What an OG. You have taught me so much! I just need a decent camera now. I also want to copy you and go to greenland! Haha! Thank you for these tutorials where Uni are charging so much and getting children into debt and you have helped me and all the others commenting. Thanks bro
haha what a great comment to read, thanks!!! I'm sure you'd learn a lot more with a whole uni degree, but at least this is way faster and cheaper! =) Best of luck!
Chris, this is brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing your course. It's fun, informative and very easy to follow. An absolute master class. Thank you.
