The top one is what I resonate with the most, in 2019 I was 16 and I often got into arguments with my classmates who hated me (but funny enough, after COVID they all became my friends), I was having a hard time at home, and I felt like absolute crap. I felt like it was the worst year of my life. Fast forward to 2024, I am now 21, within the 5 years a lot has happened. Even though I am not in a darker place as I thought I was in 2019, now I beg to god for 2019 to happen again because it was way better. I took my 16 y/o life for granted, because back then everything felt normal, we never had to worry about sudden deaths in the family (within 4 years I lost 2 Aunts, a great Uncle, and both my Grandfathers with my Maternal Grandpa dying on July 19th of this year), we had more interaction with family members, we had more outings with family, we had friends who were still physically among us whereas now they are spread across the world in different universities or some who has passed, the economic situation was better, the healthcare was better, and the bottom line is we had nothing bad to worry about. Now, my father who is 55 years of age has become physically and mentally weaker and my mom's health issues have only worsened. 16 y/o me would never have to worry about it back then. So yeah, the "16 Just Held Such better days" truly hits home
Maybe its the case that, for some of us, livings just thd constant fight between here and there, darkness and light, breathing and gasping. I need an anchor to keep me afloat, something deeper than myself, so that my own darkness can't get the best of me. That anchor is sometimes a passion, like art or math or writing. Or it's a person you do not want to burden with the loss of yourself. A son or daughter, or even a god child or pet. Someone who you know would be saddened at your departure. Goods luck

No. I turned 30 in 2007 It’s now 2024 & I’m 47 & fit with zero family. I married a legit 9. After breast cancer and seizures & the stroke that did her mentally in by 2023, she held on as long as she could.
I'm 42.... such a beautiful song it makes me cry.... it haunted me when it first came out and I had serious drug and mental health issues. It haunted me BEFORE I knew what it really meant to me. I can feel this song inside of me, I almost feel like I understand it better than the band (which is obviously absurd, but that's just how much I love it) ❤️
