Hello! Welcome to my RU-vid channel! My name is Michelle and I never pictured myself as a public RU-vidr. Most of my videos have been private or unlisted for family and church use. However, due to Covid-19, encouragement from the Lord and family and friends (including inspiration from my late Grandma), I recently made my channel public. Content to expect: ALL things music, such as classical piano covers, drum covers, worship songs, hymns, kids worship songs with my girls and also some teaching videos, such as how to record from home.
Thank you for checking out my channel. Please SUBSCRIBE and hit the NOTIFICATION BELL to be notified of new videos. I will try to put out new content 1-2 times per week. Enjoy!
You are doing very good with learning! You nailed the notes on the 13th chord. It's easier than you think and you don't need to play all the notes in performance. I am not a jazz player but I am a contemporary composer for reference. You can also play some of these notes an octave lower or higher, that's how it becomes possible to play with one hand! Also start with 7th chords and names of intervals (2nd, 5th, 10th, etc., also major, minor, diminished, augmented)

@@CrazyHomelessWeirdo , no. Right now, my focus is teaching and just shining the spotlight on others (and Jesus of course). I’ve written a book on how to be a Music Director and created the curriculum for my 4 free piano classes here on RU-vid, but have not taken the time to sit and write my own music.
This is an Fadd2/E, an add9 is the octave higher than a root, also it’s not a Maj7 chord when the lowest note is the e, that’s an F/E. Theory nonsense, but important to know, correct me if I’m wrong.
@codcade Correct, I made a mistake. I meant to write Fmaj7/G. But the way she played it, I agree with you. Albeit, I wouldn't play that chord with the maj7 1 and 2 in the same octave. It's very muddled.
Not hard at all because of inversions and these chords are usually done with two hands. You will meet almost nobody who plays an Fmaj9 like F A C E G without arpeggiation, and it's most likely played ad F G A C E (in one hand) or when in sheet music, is inversed beautifully like G F (left) A C E (right). Start reading sheet music, instead of chord websites, helps in the long run.
@JOELCRUYWAGEN, it’s just a fun song that beginners like to play when they see a piano. However, most beginners have a hard time finding the starting keys for some reason and that’s why I wanted to teach it to help people out.
Whenever I played an A major chord in the song, I played the root position of the chord. I didn’t invert it. The A chord at the end during the key change was A sharp minor. (A#m)
@oak7741, yes, same shape with curved fingers, but totally different notes. Not a lot of beginners can play flat and sharp chords, especially as a triad. My previous short videos have been geared towards beginners. Thank you for your comment though!
I WISH this song was written and released when my grandmother passed. Your voice reminds me of hers, and that was a MUCH needed surprise. Thank you for this BEAUTIFUL cover.
@eldestbodin, thanks for sharing! I’m so sorry to hear about your grandma’s passing. 4 years ago, I also lost my grandmother and that was the first time I experienced deep grief. I’m glad this cover was able to bless you.
@JOELCRUYWAGEN, thank you! This is many years of playing the piano and practicing, but you can do it too. I highly recommend finding a piano teacher that is local to you or checking out pianote.com. They have online piano lessons that you can take on your own time. Also, a music teacher can give you the tools, but you must keep practicing on your own time. Thank you for watching and listening to my videos!
Thank you 😎I'll keep practicing on my own, atm my tutor doesnt practice alot with me so I'm practicing on my own🙌thank you for the guidance and awesome tutorials and piano songs 🎊🎊
I really love your videos Michelle. As a complete beginner I have learned so much in just a week. I managed to get the chords down for the song I requested. Do you have any videos on understanding scales?
@SaskieaSundar, I’m glad my videos have been helpful for you. Have you been able to check out the links I gave you for the 4 free beginner piano lessons that I made a few years ago? It will really be helpful for you. Also, as far as learning scales. I’ll send you the links to the 2 shorts I made on that.

@SaskieaSundar, here’s a link to a short tutorial that I did for the song. I will eventually do a full video when time permits, but keep practicing those chords and the count too. It will help with the song. Here’s the link: “Be Still and Know” tutorial #shorts #pianoteacher #chords #worshipmusic ru-vid.comJ0_3L4bQsSQ?feature=share

@@MichelleGaddi thank you ! 😌☺️ That was a good first lesson I watched today, I did mighty to save. I practiced for an hour, but I realise I must try to play quicker and in tune because when the worship singer started to sing while I was playing, I got nervous alot and was making mistakes and kept on stopping. I'll practice again tomorrow, thank you 👍👍
Hi Mrs Gaddi , i practiced now, the videos were helpful, thank you🤝 I have a follow up question , So im watching RU-vid tutorials and they play stuff like C major, but they do (G,C,E) or they do F major and do (A,C,F). So i see there are many ways to play one major such as a C major. Could you show how this works please , or the different types of majors related to each Letter ? Would appreciate 🤝
@JOELCRUYWAGEN, here’s the link to the short video I did on inverted chords. Inverted chords and rhythm #shorts #chords #rhythm #musicteacher ru-vid.comJetSHcyRD9A?feature=share
Thank you very much !🎉 This will help, i am practicing the piano becasue i want to play for my church youth band as we currently dont have band to play at youth 🙈 Im gonna practice this today later 👍👍once again thank you !
Mornings from Cape town south Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦😊 thank you very much , it helps when you also say the letters playing so we dont also have to struggle to see exactly what letters you pressing so thank you very much 💫
Hi Mrs Gaddi hope you are well, I am starting to learn piano again , could you please take a moment to do a video where you share all the ABCDEFG major and minor chords please? For example, I know C is C, E, G. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦Joel, would appreciate.
@@MichelleGaddi Thank you very much ! That would be appreciated ☺️ Please note i have completely forgotten how to read piano notes 🎶, so I would appreciate if you do the recording where you show your fingers saying C major is for example (c , e, g ) because I know the piano 🎹 keys from c to g.
I learnt piano where the letters are written on the keyboard from c to g , and then I learnt what are the majors and minors on the keyboard , but now I've forgotten again , so thank you very much for taking time out of your day to teach again 🙏😊
@JOELCRUYWAGEN, I just recorded and posted both videos. I made them as shorts, so I separated the major and minor chords since I couldn’t explain both in less than a minute. Happy practicing! 🎹
@henribehnen5922, I appreciate you for letting me know! I just looked it up and apparently, their musical alphabet only consists of 5 letters, instead of the standard 7. There’s no F or B.
