Nice video update. The myVolts stuff is pretty much essential if you own some Volca's. I think because I'm a child of the 70's and 80's my biggest fear is always frying my gear because of using the wrong power supply. I know because I've ruined probably too many electronics back then tinkering around. To this day it still haunts me, so I'm always super careful not to ruin my synths. Your site is helpful getting the polarity right and what the right things to buy. Always curious to see what you are cooking up.
Great project! Any chance you could add an audio-out in the future (with decent DA conversion)? For the ipad/iphone musicians that don't need an audio interface, now using some usb-hub.
No Offence - but sorry - for what im paying for? Okay - im an electronics - so i know, how to build a clear powersupply - but why the ppl have to pay that much for that, what u build?
Hi there. It is power only. We surveyed musicians and found there was a need for a power only hub with the advent of the new high power USB possibilities. The reasoning is that including other connections such as data increase the potential of noise from ground loops and other electrical interference.
Definitely a game changer. Question, though, as I'm not familiar with Kickstarter: it sounds like if I pledge the money for the Silent Explorer Kit but you guys don't reach the $107,556 goal by June 20th, then you guys don't send me anything and my credit card doesn't get charged? Or do you send out the products and charge the customers even if you don't reach that $107,556 goal in time? Please confirm--this is the only thing keeping me from buying!
Hi there. If the campaign hits it's goal, your card will be charged and you will have goods sent out. If the campaign goal is not reached, you will not have any charge to your card and there will be nothing sent out. Hope that makes sense!
Definitely makes sense, and I bought the Silent Explorers Kit! I'm just bummed, because it unfortunately doesn't seem like you'll reach the funding goal in time (fingers crossed you do!) and I really would love to have this product! I've been experiencing ground loops for a while and this would be the perfect solution.
Thanks! As I said in the notes, we were trying to create the conditions where a ground loop would occour, so with unisolated ports, the noise from the Alchemist would be more like the USB power hub in the video. What I would normally do in a real life scenario, would be power the Dude mixer with a separate power bank, as adding gain on the same power circuit will be the main cause of this noise.
Call me old fashioned? Technology and the internet has passed me by? I keep seeing this pledge, but haven't got a clue how to get involved or how to follow up on these things? Not good to be an old guy these days and into all this new tech stuff. Well, it is good to be an old guy, but it's just a very slow, steep learning curve.
@@tomwatson283 there is a link to the campaign in the description, here it is again! www.kickstarter.com/projects/myvolts/the-alchemist-power-anything-anyhow-anywhere/description
@@myvolts1903 Yes, thanks for the reply. I've been on. I'm just saying (call me thick) I'm not good with this internet stuff. It's beyond my education in these matters. If I know what I'm doing? I don't have a problem pledging. I Just don't know how to go about these things. I'll have another look later. I may need to enlist the help of my grand kids?
Fantastic products. I have the little usb C connectors. They are brilliant. I'm not good with this internet stuff, so I don't get involved in the finance side of things. But rest assured when this hits the market I will be getting one.
What a terrible SHIT quality! I ordered a 9v min cable for my roland sp 404 mk2 from the bax shop and it got here 2 weeks because of backorder and the cable seems a dud and not even working... making me question the quality control.
Hi, I am trying to power some 9v electronics that I use in my fishing gear. It is a long story, but was wondering if you make this in a 9v? At any given time, I would need to replace 9v batteries as you never know when a battery will die. I have usb power banks. I just need a way to replace the 9v batteries. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Great invention. Very informative. I’ve just stumbled upon your products, as I am not a musician, so took me a bit to find you. Thanks.
I got mine but I still haven't got it to work... I haven't used a power bank I've tried a few USB adapters at 2.4 out but it doesn't seem to power them.
Hi guys, I'm just about to order the TC Helicon Acoustic play 12v cable from your website, but I was wondering, is that all I need (With an anker powerbank) to get up & running for busking? The reason I ask is because another guy on RU-vid said he ordered the same cable I'm about to buy, but it didn't work until he had this other reverse polarity adapter cable Thanks
Hi there. If you buy this item, it will come with the polarity reverser included: myvolts.com/product/40990/Ripcord_USB_to_12V_DC_power_cable_compatible_with_the_TC-Helicon_Play-Acoustic_Effects-pedal
Nice jam. It would be good if you could answer requests from content creators for videos projects and competitions faster and more conclusively. I have not received an answer to my inquiry about the last #Jamuary (2022) and the "How I record my videos" video from March 7th, 2022. It's really a shame, because this would have been a huge benefit for you.
I have found the 3-way L on the outputs of the Crazy Chain products to be frustrating. You always have two cables at the power inlet of the device going in two directions at right angles to each other running parallel to the surface of the device itself. On the Korg Volca FM it can be awkward as the cables end up blocking either the power switch or the display. It can become unusable on some of my effect pedals that have the -9VDC power between the audio input and outputs. A configuration that is quite common.
With every solution, there are compromises to be made. We do also have make a one to five power splitter cable for the volcas, if you prefer that configuration.
Hey what can you say about the noise? I tinkered my own daisy chain with a pedal supply but if I connect it to a pedal, Behringer TD-3 and the volcas (synced) I get noise. Have you in these power cables some sort of an isolation? (Pedal and Behringer has neg. inside and pos. outside but I can create a converter myself just struggle at the isolation).
There is always potential for noise in these set-ups. You need an isolated Power Supply (I suggest Strymon Ojay). Crazychain is especially good for volcas, as it can both reverse polarity and change connector in one simple cable.
