All these issues could have been solved with 15 minutes of Google research - even in those days. Car now resides in Canada and is being brought back to original spec but with a 440 instaed of the original 318. The 440 in this video is long gone. As is the cut/welded K-member. This is a super clean, one-year-only Coronet that deserved to be saved. It is in a good Mopar home now sitting beside it's cousin - 72 Road Runner. We'll take good care of her. Mopar or Nocar!!!
If you would put a 1/4 inch pipe with 1/8holes in the bottom of tube with about 10 psi of air would clean better then just sitting there or even a small water pump to move the water
Hey try using scotch brite green pads on the areas you couldn't get(minus the gasket surface) I just did mine off a 460 and scotch brite with brake cleaner took all the carbon off the valves. Thanks for the video! Nice work.
hey can you put a shopping list for this, so i can get this down the same way. looks good to mean even to check them out before you take them to the shop. nice job, very easy to follow.
Suggestion Purchase a ultra sonic cleaner/heater. 2 gallons of awesome and run each head for 30-40 minutes. No scrubbing required. Almost new appearance! Of course the ultrasonic cleaner will set you back about $300 30 litre size
Finally someone shows me the 100% correct and right way to do this!! Just playing, thanks for making the video man. That Awesome spray is the shit! I use it on everything
Would you cut the floor if you could do this job all over again in another A Body cutlass? Or would you use adjustable motor mounts and bring the engine forward? Thanks in advance. I currently have an LT Gen V 6.2L in my 71 convertible. I had a 4L60e and now i have a 6L80 to use from a 2012 camaro.
Bro this was a good video but my only rhing is, dont use steel wool on the heads. Especially if they aluminum. Its cutting and gouging the metal surface just use a scotch brite pad my man
I dig it for sure. Hot tank does essentially the same thing, or a solvent tank. Awesome is a hell of a lot cheaper than solvent. Sending my head to be hot tanked and decked. Think I might do this prior to help the machinist.
Hey I got a question so I just got this 5.3 that only needs a oil pump and o ring change can I just change that without having to change everything else on the engine like push rods and lifters or do you think it’s better to change those to.?
Look out boss, im doing a 6.2 4l80e build, im having starting problems, it won't start, with the key, but if i spray starter fluid in the throttle body it will run, whts the problem?
They're warranty dept is pretty shitty. They have 2 ign boxes I returned almost 2 years ago for repair and they kept giving me excuses about not having workers, chips, etc. , now that I circled back around and inquired about them, they are telling me that unless I resend them the tracking info they will not return them. Of course after that long I can't find the tracking info so I just lost 2 boxes. I already replaced them with 6AL boxes during the interim, but nonetheless, how crappy of them. They tech I was working with isn't there anymore so nobody seems to know anything. I installed a dozen boxes on various cars and even did a dig dash install video for them. Whatever, hope it keeps working for you, if it takes a shit, you might be out of luck on the repair end.
I almost bought it that way for 2nd gen Camaro but got the enclosed sets instead. Wasn't sure the square boards would fit but would have in that housing really. It's a detailed project either ways and helps if your as electronically inclined. I ought to post it too.
WOW long time no see!!! You helped me w/my PT!!! Now i have a horrible cylinder head w/some serious cloggs in them! I love the way you do it, anyone who complains never been on a budget!
I've got intellitronix on my GTI. They will take a little more time but very clean,, great quality and way less expensive than Dakota. I just took a little time and wired it up myself saved $$$
