This was such a great short movie.. this young man was such a great support and help ... did good.. Jesus is the way to everlasting life... seek Him....
What a beautiful, poignant film. Fantastic acting and the camera work is excellent. There's a very powerful message in there about how loneliness is not just for the elderly and how we can be the difference in someone's life...the difference that we hope someone will be to us one day when we need it. Thank you to everyone involved in making this film.
I lost my mum shortly after covid, she lived so isolated and had no one keeping an eye on her. I live abroad . It broke my heart & still does- that I could not be there for her . Hundreds of people like this lad saved life’s without even knowing it . Rip mum I miss you daily ❤🌹
So sorry.... it is a sad thing....I hope you are socializing and have loving people around you. Jesus loves you and has a plan foe your life.. to give you joy and hope!!❤
I really loved the use of props like the alarm clock and hand sanitiser to make it clear to the audience that this seems to be set in COVID times. Moments (2:44) was good where the shot zoomed in on each beat so well done to the editor. I think (2:48) with the note pad list acting like a memory in the background as he walks along with the series of quick shots that follow was highly effective and moved the narrative along nicely. Finally, I really loved the hear-felt moment at (7:07) with the close-up shots of the actors. I think the deeper messages and the way the story is written is amazing and I even loved the moment where the protagonist threw away his cigarettes as if he is starting over again and taking the advice that he was given to stop smoking. A massive well done to everyone who was involved in this as a student doing media studies now, I know it takes lots of work to be able to create something like this 😊. I’ve really struggled with getting my audio correct and it’s something I’m going to work on for my next project and its short films like this that give me the courage to do so!
@@Room18Films Wow thanks for actually replying to me - I've always been quite hesitant to actually put a comment out there but I certainly would be doing it more often now!
Quite lovely. I live next door to an 88-year-old lady who’s never liked me. Her exact words were, “You rub me the wrong way.” In the three years I’m here, I’ve never said one unkind word to her. Instead, I’ve never said “no” to any little favors she’s asked of me, nor one unkind word. Still, she seems to look for reasons to yell at me or be unkind. I’m 68 and have health issues, so keep to myself. She hates the fact that altho she’s mostly deaf, except to my voice, that I’ve tinnitus and sometimes can’t hear how my voice may be a little loud. I think she’s forgotten my tinnitus and she’s started to complain about it. She talks to me from a distance, then gets nasty when I walk away because I didn’t know (because I couldn’t hear her) or I make a sign that I can’t hear or walk closer to her. Frankly, after three years of this, she’s getting meaner. Don’t know if it’s just her disliking me or she’s getting older, but I’m truly tired of trying anymore.
This was a special treat for me. I love England and I felt as if I lived in that same neighbourhood. Of course the message of patience, tolerance and kindness is important. Thank you for this.
i just can't stomach thinly veiled illustrative moral stories that feel like they're sponsored by some religious organization. I'm all for good morals and fine cinema that parlays good moral character, just not ones that feel like they have an agenda, even if i agree with the message. In the scheme of things, with all the wars and horrors and and attrocities, this *should* be a welcome change, but I always feel guarded against indoctrination. Maybe their next film should be a tale about a curmudgeonly middle-aged lady who ranted about benign kindness propaganda in the comment section and how she just needed actual kindness and love in her life to restore her generosity of spirit. lol!
This made Me Thirsty for MORE interaction between these two Characters. The AWAKENING of the old Curmudgeon was HEARTWARMING and felt very real. The Young Man is well cast. When does Chapter TWO start? PLEASE!
Subtle characterisation. Use of the time changes was inventive. The young actor's role was unusual and at the same time believable. Not schmaltzy. Thank you for this.
